story headline suggests that he's involved in porn, but before they get to the meat of the story, they drop this bomb...

 what I find interesting is that I was recently watching an episode of Anthony Bourdain's , No Reservations where he was attending a cockfight (think it was in India) and I'm not aware of any criticism about that. While I don't condone cockfighting nor would I attend one, considering the fact that he was in the Dominican Republic where cockfighting is rampant like most of Latin America I guess I don't see it as big a deal as some. Should he have used better discretion?.... probably

As far as the porn promotion, there are far worse things in life than this. And if you believe his explanation he may have been duped. Who knows, maybe he just wants to replace Ben Davidson as Porter the Bouncer.

All in all, compared to some of the real bonehead moves other players have made these don't necessarily rate IMO

bottom line

Digging ditches? With his kind of money, surely he could rent a pipe puller of hire a boring rig & crew ... or at least the organization would have the money. Digging ditches to old fashioned way? Funk dat. I mean, give me a track hoe and I will get you a ditch quick...

Honestly fellas, I am sick and tired of every little thing a player does being reported by the media and the player being made to look like a tool.

Attending a cockfight. In the DR, where it is rampant. YAWN.

Enough looking for dirt on these guys...does anyone really think they are perfect? Am I? Are you? So why would we expect these guys to be perfect just because they are pro athletes? If you tell me it's because the media is all over them and not us and they SHOULD act in a certain way, I call b.s. If it's about the $$$ they make, again, I call b.s.

You know who should be held to a higher standard? Parents.

OK, rant over. Fire away...

Werd, the elite jock culture is the last place we should be looking for role models and moral compasses.

No doubt, whenever I see this stuff with athletes or politicians, I tend to think of all the things folk might dig up on me and blow out of proportion if they were hell bent on making me look bad.

Honestly, I think they'd have to try pretty hard to paint the average guy as nearly as bad as both politicians and pro athletes make it so easy to paint.

Politicians are, by and large a bunch of self-important, power-hungry d-bags. Maybe not every one of them, but seemingly the vast, vast majority of them. At least, the ones who actually make it to the highest levels.

Pro athletes are basically the last sector of society for whom social evolution does not apply. For the rest of us, being stronger and faster has been replaced by being able to cope and thrive within the accepted framework of society. We have to figure out that there are rules that we need to obey or we end up fired, kicked out of school, or thrown in jail. Not these guys, they still live by caveman rules. If you're big enough, strong enough, and or fast enough, you can pretty much do and take what you want. That doesn't mean that some don't exploit this situation and instead choose to be good guys. But guys who do that are canonized for really being no better than the average guy in terms of how they conduct themselves in society.

That we're remotely surprised when someone from either of these camps takes it too far or gets caught, is baffling to me. Which is why some dude visiting a cock fight in a country where it happens all the time and then posing for a photo in an industry that is totally legal if a bit unsavory to many, should barely register a blip. That's bordering on model citizen given where the bar is placed for these guys.

Ditto. I am so glad I didnt have the media following me around when I was in my early 20's. And they have tons of cash??? Man, I shudder to think of the news reports my mom would have been subject to reading about her son.
