tazinib1
I've been doing some free drafts put on by MFL and after participating in 13/15 of them, I've discovered there are some bye week traps you don't want any part of. Week 11....good god you have the Colts,Texans,Saints and Steelers. That is a mess right there. I could easily build a team around those 4 teams alone. Week 8....another tough week to have multiple players on. With Atlanta,Chicago,Green Bay,Jets,Oakland and Tampa. Thats a big chuck of some mighty fine talent Week 7...3rd rated bye week to not get caught up in with Buffalo,Cincinnati,New England,Giants,Eagles and 49'rs. The good thing about this year is there is no bye week before week 5. No bye weeks after week 11 and no week 10 bye. So if you can draft your guys carefully, you won't get caught up in bye week hell. Good luck.
mrbass24
Whats your team name/ I'm in a few my self, hope its not FreeLoaders in MFL 11......LOL....we have to wait the full 12 on him. In that same league a team had his first three WR he took on the same bye week.

mrbass24
LOL, You crack me up on there.... I Love Me Some Me....Here I went WR heavy first few drafts playing the explosion factor and wanted a WR at 2.5 in MFL 11 but couldn't pass on MJD even if his knee isn't 100% right now. I'm still trying to figure out how Aj fell to you at 2.2 and he was the third WR taken Edited July 3, 2011 by mrbass24
Bronco Billy
The only way I'd allow bye weeks to affect my drafting would be if I had 2 or more guys at the top of my list at the time rated dead even - the I'd allow then more advantageous bye to break the tie. Otherwise it ought to be a non-factor, IMO. Using bye weeks as an important criterion is classic out-thinking ones' self and ending up with a weaker team for the entire season to try to gain a 1 week advantage. At any rate, I agree with you for the most part. However, in a re-draft league, I'm not gonna load up 4 bye week 11 WR's. Or draft 3 bye week 7 RB's. I understand the non-factor if you draft smartly. I can't say that about every FF owner

I can't say that about every FF owner I worry less about bye weeks in best-ball formats. So what if you have one bad week, it's not like it's an automatic loss for you. I draft the best players in best ball. Period. But yeah, I have noticed that many big names will be on bye on the same week. Will it involve more planning? Maybe a smidgen, but nothing I'd get too crazy over.
Ditkaless Wonders
I think you should try to get all of your byes done on th esame week. Yeah, you will have one bad week, but during th erest of the bye schedule you will be at full strength competing against teams limited by their own byes. In your next draft please see if it is possible to select all of your guys from teams on the same bye week and report back wiht your results. Jackass
decent chance there will be no bye weeks this year anyway due to the lockout.
i_am_the_swammi
decent chance there will be no bye weeks this year anyway due to the lockout. +! All it will take is the season to start 2-3 weeks late, and the bye weeks go will likely go away.
