Retirees to file suit vs NFL, NFLPA

The complaint says that the current players and the association, along with the N.F.L., "are conspiring to depress the amounts of pension and disability benefits to be paid to former N.F.L. players in order to maximize the salaries and benefits to current N.F.L. players."

And it says that while the N.F.L. is willing to commit additional money to retirees from within and outside the league’s salary cap, the union "has insisted that the sum within the salary cap be given to current players instead."

Now that makes freakin' sense. "They're trying to depress the amounts, even though they're giving us more than originally contracted to"

Also not sure what case the former players have against the current players, as both sides are employees. Any lawyers in the house? If this would be considered a valid position, imagine what it could to do all labor negotiations.

This #### is getting so old.

Typical. Back when those guys were playing, they wanted to "take the cash now" approach and take less in pension. Now since thy are old and cant afford their medication, they want to backtrack and get a increase in pension.

Let it go!

NOW they're all divvying up our money, and all the hands are held out. A deal is close. When the CBA is signed, action will be as fast as the off-season has been slow up to this point (wait... what?). It'll be announced next week when I'm holed up in a hotel training with out of towners for four days.

The Huddle have any plans on information overload and the 200+ transactions /hour/day we're bound to see...???

Yeah, let's ignore the fact that they now have health issues directly related to football that were unknown at the time, kinda like working with asbestos 30+ tears ago. F 'em they shoulda known what concussions would do to them before neuro surgeons did 40 years later.
