Jeff Saturday pulls a Mike Tyson

Recommended Posts

So I am watching Mike and Mike this morning. They are showing clips of the press conference from yesterday pertaining to the players vote. Player rep Jeff Saturday takes the mike for comments one presumes he has had time to contemplate. He is going to comment on the importance of Robert Kraft's involvement in getting to a deal even in the face of his wife's condition. He states: "I don't want to be climatic, but ... [the deal doesn't get done w/o Krafts' involvement]"

Really Jeff? We don't want you to be "climatic" either.

He goes on to say that for Krafts' participation the players are very "gracious"

We have not seen language use like this since Mike Tyson, a graduate of the Yogi Berra school of speach, proudly stated he was going to knock an opponent into "bolivian".

My take, clearly the NFL needs to do even more to protect these guys from the ravages of concussions, or as Saturday might say "percussions".

Did you hear D Foxworth's comments during the press conf yesterday? Hilarious.

Trying to find it now.

“I think they just put me up here for eye candy,” Foxworth said. “Obviously, I’m more attractive than anyone else that has been up here.”

I can't imagine you can get by being Manning's center w/o being a smart guy.

I fondly remember Dickerson's sideline reporting on MNFB. He wasn't very insightful, but he did remind me of a blind toothless blues singer. Kind of like Ozzy if Ozzy were black. Had a good beat and meter to it, kind of like scat (no Cliaz, not that scat). Didn't understand a word he said, and would prefer that to most sideline reporting.
