Posluszny to Jags

Recommended Posts

(FFChamps) It has been confirmed that Paul Posluszny has agreed to a six-year deal with the Jaguars, according to Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network.

Analysis: Jacksonville has fielded one of the worst defenses in the NFL over the last few years, and scooping up a stud linebacker was a huge move in the right direction. Now rookie Kelvin Sheppard has better odds of claiming a starting role at inside linebacker in Buffalo, and Kirk Morrison would have to move to the weak-side if he decides to re-sign as a free agent. Posluszny wanted to move to a 4-3 defense, and shall remain one of the fiercest linebackers in IDP leagues.

Not so sure about that. Buffalo had one of the most porous run defenses in the league giving Poz tons of chances for tackles. Couple that with Buffalo's statistician/scorer being much more generous than others in the league and you may see a drop in Poz's stats.

...and now Clint Session joins the fold.

Jaguars agreed to terms with OLB Clint Session on a five-year, $30 million contract.

Linebackers are cleaning house on this year's market, thanks in large part to Jacksonville. Session will receive $11.5 million guaranteed on top of MLB Paul Posluszny's $15 million in guarantees. The Jags reportedly "love" Session, and the Colts' leading tackler from 2009 will start on the weak side opposite Daryl Smith in a revamped linebacking corps.
