In related news, Alex Gaddis has a White Vikings Sidney Rice jersey for sale, $40

and Seahawks21 will be purchasing a Blue Seahawks Sidney Rice jersey for $68 very soon! Better hope Percy gets them headaches fixed.

Wow. I gotta assume this is a bad deal for everyone involved. Rice goes to a team missing a decent QB. MIN just shipped away thier best WR after they just got a decent QB with a couple years left in his tank. SEA upgraded their WR corps but have no QB and no O-line to protect their crappy QB situation. What a mess. Unless Charlie Whitehurst is anything respectable, I just don't see how this works. Of course, Tavaris could surprise but I doubt it.

I completely disagree with you on this. I think this is a great deal for the Seahawks.

They just signed Gallery, they invested two high draft picks on Oline (building from the trenches) and have a decent RB in Lynch. If Tavaris or whoever, can just manage the games effectively, they still play in the weak NFC west. Big Mike Williams and Rice on the other side with Golden Tate or Butler in the slot? That is a pretty decent WR core to roll out, and can cover up some deficincies at QB.

If I was a Seahawks fan, I would be pretty happy with the offseason so far.

Now the Vikings on the other hand? I would be PISSED.

With Fitz, someone in STL, and now Rice in SEA, does SF up the bid to get Asomough?

I don't get Aso to 49er's. They should be trying to rebuild and I don't get how getting a 30 year old CB will help them with that. They must be delusional and believe they can win with Alex Smith. If I was them I'd be going hard for Andrew Luck.

Sure, it's great for the SEA IF one of those QBs can be better than average. I'm not sure either have what it takes though. However, I am interested to see what Tavaris can do. I remember seeming something from him in pre-season games in years past. Anyways, I was probably a little hyperbolic in my earlier post though regarding SEA but as you said, there's no doubt this is a big blow for the Viqueens.

I just see SEA as one of those teams who gets lucky rather than being consistent. I could be wrong.

you know, Tarvaris could actually be decent if the coaching staff would allow him to use his abilities...Childress was the worst coach for him because he wouldn't let him play outside of the "system".

then again, once the pressure is on I am sure he will choke...

Three actually, if you consider 2nd round high. The Hawks appear to have a very solid foundation for their O, everywhere, but QB.

I think the Sidney Rice devaluing thing is being a bit overblown. An NFL QB with Big Mike Williams on one side and Sidney Rice on the other should be able to get these guys targets.

What's funny is that I'm fairly certain if Hass was still there, this wouldn't be a point of concern amongst FF players. I think it's fairly safe to Say Hasselbeck was below average the last 3 seasons.

And Tate in the slot seems like a pretty dangerous combo...

Not for me. They made the best move because Hass lost it (as I mentioned in a previous post somewhere) once Holmgren left. Holmgren willed himself onto Hasselbeck. He may be the greatest over-achiever in NFL history. Honestly - and that's a compliment to both Hass and Holmy.

When I first heard about the Hawks letting Haselbeck go coupled with the Jackson signing, I wasn't too thrilled. Except for the fact that they could possibly be in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. But today they signed Gallery and Sid Rice so it looks like they won't be terrible... A healthy o-line of Okung-Gallery-Unger-Moffit-Carpenter looks pretty promising. Sure there will be growing pains but I like that combination of athleticism, youth and grit that they bring. Pete Carroll must have done a number recruiting Rice to come out West, but that's what he does very well!
