Brentastic
Zach Miller - TE - Seattle Seahawks Posted 8/2/11 5:18pm et The Seattle Seahawks have reached a contract agreement with free-agent TE Zach Miller (Raiders). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Huddle Up: Seahawks OC Darrell Bevell is not lacking for talented players. Marshawn Lynch, Sidney Rice, Big Mike Williams, and now Zach Miller. All Tarvaris Jackson has to do is distribute the football with reasonable consistency.
tazinib1
So Kyle, where is all this money they had to resign one of the better all around TE's in the NFL? Miller loses some fantasy value IMO.

MustOfBeenDrunk
Miller is good. Dumb of OAK to let him get away. Yep ,,, and the same goes for Seattle ( the part of being dumb ) they are throwing money all over the place but are willing to go into the season with TJ

kpholmes
Bay Area radio stations blowing up today. No one has any freakin' idea what Al Davis & Co are doing. Letting Asomugha, Miller and Gallery walk... just re-signing Kam and Huff... bringing Trent Edwards back... I know Schillens is back in camp and looking great, but it's asinine for the Raiders to expect Schillens/Murphy/Ford to lead the air assault. Tons of money to spend, and the Raiders aren't using any of it... So frustrating.
Zooty
so what did Oakland get in exchange for the trade of an unrestricted FA?
bpwallace49
I cant believe they let him get away. . . . he was their best receiver, hands down.

bushwacked
So when does Seattle trade for Kyle Orton? It seems apparent Pete Carrol doesn't want to hitch his coaching wagon on a long term Orton deal. The 2013 starting QB will most likely be drafted next April. benyak007
It seems apparent Pete Carrol doesn't want to hitch his coaching wagon on a long term Orton deal. The 2013 starting QB will most likely be drafted next April. QB class is pretty deep next year with Luck, Landry Jones and Barkley (a Carroll recruit) all potentially coming out. The Hawks should be able to get one of those guys, especially considering that not many teams need QBs anymore. Whitehurst should be gone after next year and Tavaris can be the de facto starter/veteran backup. Looks like whoever they draft will have tons of weapons and a promising o-line. darin3
Miller loses some fantasy value IMO. Why? Because there are two capable WRs on the edges? Perhaps. But perhaps he'll just be even more open for more catches, resulting in more yards and more TDs. Who knows. I would only bump him down a slight bit, if at all. Thunder Chicken
From the SeattlePI: Carroll says Miller, Carlson will ‘absolutely’ play in tandem RENTON – The signing of tight end Zach Miller doesn’t have Pete Carroll scrambling to figure out what he’s going to do with tight end John Carlson. The Seahawks coach already knows. And if Carroll’s exuberance on Tuesday is any indication, there’s no need for Carlson to worry about being shipped out. It doesn’t appear as if the arrival of Miller, a free-agent who agreed to a deal with the Seahawks on Tuesday worth a reported $34 million over five years, will force the Seahawks to send Carlson elsewhere. Rather, Carroll is downright giddy over the prospect of putting both of the pass-catching tight ends on the field at the same time. BearBroncos
Because they are talking about keeping Carlson? If they keep Carlson, I think it will be more of a blocking role. We know (at least for now) that there will be a non-seasoned NFL starter at the helm (some will argue TJ is experienced) and if either Whitehurst or Jackson are throwing the rock, Miller will be their safe receiver. I suspect he will actually get allot of work as long as either of these two are QB'ing the Hawks.
