Old Money
Thie year a friend of mine and I will be co-commishing a new auction league. Our auction draft is going to start with $200 and then the blind bidding budgets are going to be set at $100 for the season. We are having a debate on whether or not left over money from the draft should be added to the FAAB. For example if one of the owners only uses $175 of his $200 to fill his roster then the leftover $25 would be added to his FAAB of $100 to start the season with $125. Each guy must fill his entire roster during the draft. Do you guys think this is a good idea or a bad idea? Why or why not?
Zooty
Bad idea even playing field pre and post draft. allowing guys to carry money over creates and uneven playing field post draft
bankerboy
Counter argument is that someone could draft a weaker team, but have a stronger FAAB budget thereby making it overall more "even". I don't play that way, but think it comes down to personal preference.

Pip's Invitation
My auction league has done it both ways, and it didn't really affect things much either way. Of course, we have 14 teams and 20 roster spots, so there's not a huge advantage to be gained from stockpiling FA money.
