4th pick in a PPR

how many teams?

I guess, at that point, you either have to decide if you want to roll with Charles and the 7-8th best WR (who you'd get in the 2nd round), or AJ and the 11-12th best RB

I'd have prolly gone Charles

Yup, especially with how long you have to wait until you pick in the second, I just couldn't pass up a top 4 back (and def not this year, where I see very little difference among the top 4)... I'd rather take my chances that good WR value drops to the late 2nd.

I would have gone Charles and not thought twice about it.

Although AJ is a beast and has looked good so far this year, I would also have picked Charles in the #4 spot.

I like the AJ pick there. More NFL points equate to more fantasy points, and more weapons makes the offense less predictable. One dimensional teams are much easier to shut down, and in games where they get blown out the running game is ditched early. If there's ever a tough choice to make, I'll usually side with the better team over the talent of one player.

just couldn't pull the trigger on charles or chris johnson. when it comes down to it I'd rather ride with AJ.

I like people that go with their gut instincts, even if it goes against popular theory. However, I would have picked Charles. First, I think the guy is phenomenal, and think he will at least get somewhat more touches than last year. Also, the drop-off between him & the RB you will likely get in the 2nd round will be more severe than the drop-off between AJ and the WR you would have gotten in the 2nd round. It's not as bad as it used to be, given the two RB systems, but, there still isn't as much depth at RB as there is at WR.

It also bears mention that the PPR is graduated so RBs only get .5 and WRs get 1. So, couple the fact that WRs score more as a whole than RBs and the starting requirements are 1 RB, 2 WR, 2 Flex, so you can roll 1 and 4 if you want and all of a sudden, the premium on nabbing a top RB goes down a bit.

I like the pick and think there's certainly something to be said for picking a guy who you think has almost zero chance of letting you down. And, given that AJ is a more proven commodity...

I like the move MUCH better in a 1 RB, 2 WR, 2 Flex setup.
