Hopefully, you're not in person or on a phone when you have that thought and say it out loud. With the mistake fresh in your mind, what did you do? What's the worst mistake you've made? Or memorable mistake...? Mine happened this past Sunday night in my only league's redraft. Picks 70 and 71 (10 team redraft, non IDP, non PPR ETA: 16 rounds) came around, and I had Benson and Mike Thomas in line to go as my picks. George Foreman Grill!??! How did I wind up picking Mike Williams (yeah... the SEA one)??? Sheissen MacDougal plowing his poop field in the county of sunnavabeyotch! Well... OK. I only drafted a guy in the 8th round I could have picked up on WW. Then I start thinking... (or is it, dreaming BIG?) maybe he's this year's Dwayne Bowe (if not for Vick, my team's MVP last year). At this point, I guess I'm just going to "live with my mistake" and keep him around until the season starts. Unless, of course, I'm talked out of it. My first year playing FF with my son (12 years old). He was at the computer and I was working the draft board. It had to be the 5th or 6th round when I called out a particular name for him to draft and I heard "Oh-oh. I'd say its wishful thinking to imagine Mike Williams will be worth a whole lot with TJack and/or Clipboard Jesus throwing balls in his direction. That said, you have him so may as well hold on to him and see what happens (unless there is an undrafted player you covet more that you can get before the season starts). No sense in just dropping the guy now just cause you didnt really want him if you cant replace him with a better alternative. Savage Beatings Posted August 24, 2011 Share Posted August 24, 2011 In my MSHB II draft I took an OLB in round 5 by mistake. I was tempted to try to fix my mistake by drafting the correct ILB that I wanted instead the next round, but I decided not to go chasing after my own mistake. I can't say I've had any major mistakes like that, though I have seen other people do it (such as drafting the wrong Adrian Peterson). We had one guy mess up and draft Ryan Mathews #1 overall last year. We gave him a ton of crap but then he went on to win the league... We were having a long conversation about him predraft and he clicked on him (via yahoo) to check out his projections. A couple minutes later he clicked the draft button.
