irish
Out of curiousity, what is the thinking behind ranking Jordy Nelson so low - 105 amongst WRs? Below guys like Golden Tate, Riley Cooper, Jeremy Kerley, Sam Hurd, etc? DMD or Packer homers? I know the Packers are pretty stacked at WR but isn't Nelson the #2 there and at worst the #3 WR? Driver's all but done and last I heard Nelson was outperforming Jones for the spot and that Jones might be bumped in favor of Cobb. I would think Nelson would be ranked higher especially in that offense with Rodgers throwing to him or is this just all the hype he garnered during the playoffs last season? Little help here... Big John
Nelson had been a bit disappointing this preseason.
DMD
Nelson is up for a review in the next update actually. I still do not trust GB with Driver, Jones, Nelson and the rookie Cobb. I am not convinced there will be a clear #2 there worthy of a fantasy start the way Rodgers will spread the ball around. plus you know Jennings gets his share and Jermichael Finley is hoped to become the #2 if not #1 receiver in the offense. I completely understand all you've said but the 105th WR seems pretty extreme considering the offense he plays for. Hell, I can name 10-12 WRs ranked ahead of him that I was shocked to see there. I've been more out of touch this year so I could be off but I just figured Nelson would be a Top 50 WR. ETA: Jones is ranked 25 spots ahead of Nelson, Driver's ranked 30 spots ahead of him and Randall Cobb is ranked 18 spots behind Nelson. irish
How do you guys feel Nelson compares to guys like Emmanuel Sanders and Jacoby Ford, ranked 49th and 54th respectively? Who would you draft first Nelson or Jordan Shipley ranked 79th with Dalton throwing to him? Edited August 26, 2011 by irish
Bronco Billy
Being caught between Driver/Jones at wideout and Cobb in the slot really has Nelson in a tough spot. He's not as savvy and reliable as Driver, and not as widly athletic as Jones and Cobb. Then toss in Finley and the other GB TEs. Add in his record for dropping pass at a relatively alarming rate and there doesn't seem to be much left at the table for him. Barring an injury, he's a man without much opportunity. I guess I just had a wrong read on this situation as I thought he was a man with decent, if not very good opportunity.

He was... until they re-signed James Jones. That threw a wrench in my... err... his opportunity. ETA: And Cobb looks like another great round 2 WR pick by TT. HowboutthemCowboys
Jordy Nelson will be a usable #3 this season at worst. I drafted him in both leagues that i've picked in so far and will be targeting him late in the other 2. And yes, the only thing I'm basing this on is gut feeling
