TDFFFreak
Assuming AP, RIce, McCoy, Charles and CJ are all off the board, do you pull the trigger at the #6 spot of a PPR draft and take Foster or do you say "no thanks. I don't want the potential headache for my mid-first round pick." ?
i_am_the_swammi
yep, you jump all over him, with a smirk on your face, at the 1.06 spot.
detlef
The hammy scares me, so I pushed Mendy ahead of him in my draft on Sunday. But after AP, Rice, CJ, and Mendy got taken 1-4, I couldn't pass on Foster at 5. Screw it. If dude is fine, I'll be golden. If not, it won't be the first time I drafted a stiff in the 1st. ts
Who are the other options if you plan on taking a RB? McFadden or Gore? Not quite stalwart no-history-of-injury guys. Mendenhall? Reasonable choice, but not PPR friendly. MJD ... could be solid, could suffer from the situation in JAX or his own possible injury issues, or whatever. Â Anyways, I think at that spot, you take Foster unless some new (bad) news presents itself between now and when you call out his name on draft day. I think Mendy catches enough balls that he shouldn't be discounted too heavily in PPR. He's certainly not a pass-catching machine, but I'd bet he gets upwards of 40 this year. I like Mendenhall as well, but I am still taking Charles ahead of him no matter how putrid KC looked in the preseason. Oddly enough, I was surprised to see Gore fall to me with my second pick (due to a big QB and WR run) not to mention that this is a one player keeper league. Â It is interesting to see how divided people are on Foster at this point.
Goopster24
Not drafting Foster, sorry. Hamstring is an issue and I just don't have a good feeling for him this year in general; that was before the hamstring. Â Mendenhall, maybe. But drafting a WR there wouldn't bother me. buddahj
I passed on both Foster & CJ in my local last Saturday. I went with Charles with the 1.03 pick instead.
flemingd
It is interesting to see how divided people are on Foster at this point. With as secretive as teams are nowadays, and with as nasty as a hamsting can be, this is to be expected. Aside from the fact the guy put his MRI on the damn Internet, we don't know anything about the progress, how he feels, how it's healing, etc. We have all seen hamstings ruin fantasy seasons - after Antonio Freeman (2001?) I have sworn off of known hamstring players - and it takes guts, a great fallback plan, and some luck to draft a guy in the first round knowing he has this type of injury.
