DMD
Breaking news on NFL channel is Jim Irsay admitting that Manning will be out "for awhile". There is no "timetable" for his return. Not good for the Colts.
delfamdelfam
if the owner is saying that It must be bad. Most owners are usually over optimistic and usually lie saying their players will be back sooner than later.
lawofmurphy
I'm not a doctor, nor connected to the Colts in any way...but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Manning probably won't play this year. Even if he's able to play later in the year, the Colts will probably be well out of contention and it'll be a "what's the point?" kind of situation. But that's just me. DMD
How often is it that the team owner gives the official word on a player injury?
keggerz
Irsay likes to hear himself talk too...all we really know about Manning is that we don't know.
SteelBunz
Irsay likes to hear himself talk too...all we really know about Manning is that we don't know. Well......I'd say we know he'll be "out for a while."
marcheese
I once asked my mother when dinner would be ready. She replied "In a while!" Dinner was ready 3 hours later... Just sayin...

Just sayin... it's all relative, in retrospect 3 hours was a long time for you when waiting for dinner.

DMD
I feel confident that "awhile" translates into several weeks at the least, particularly since there is no timetable for when he will return. My guess is a few weeks for the most optimistic and half a season to a realist.

gringuljete
Does this make Kerry Collins a QB1 based on experience and Indy's schedule? What are the implications for the running game? With 8 men in the box, can Addai get the job done? Can anyone? Carter?
WashingtonD
Interesting that they did remove him from PUP list and have not (to my knowledge) placed him back on it, that seems to at least indicate they are thinking that he could be back before their sixth game. So awhile is somewhere between 1 week and 6 weeks?

Goopster24
Irsay just loves tweeting, what a joke. Would not bank on the Colts at all this year. Staying away from the players. I'm mixed on the running game, I'm sure Indy homers have a better pulse on this. I lean towards liking it but I've seen some opinions here that sway me the other way. I have Carter on one team and drafted him late. We shall see.
Sturphy
Perhaps Irsay can hunker down with Jeff Saturday and some cocktail napkins and figurr all this out.
