MFL Question: How to prevent double-dipping

Presumably you are asking this question because if a no-name runs the kickoff back you want Chicago ST to get the TD? That seems silly to me. But I don'l believe you can have it both ways ... either special teams get kick off return TDs or they don't, either players get kick off return TDs or they don't.

Hello,

This year our MFL league is allow return yardage. How does one prevent double-dipping? Let's say Devin Hester returns a kickoff for a TD, how would I prevent Chicago Bears from getting that TD score as well?

Simply remove return TDs from the DEF scoring setup.

Rules for QB, RB, WR, TE, PK

I think the problem is simply that we have:

Punt Returns for TD : 6

Kick Returns for TD : 6

-and-

Defensive & Special Teams TDs : 6

I think it shouldn't be both. I think if we delete P/K returns for TDs, that an offensive player will get 6 points for any and all TDs they score and receive the 6 pts only once. Yeah?

I think after the draft is a little late for this kind of ruling. If somebody was savvy enough to know that he would earn double points for something like that and drafted accordingly, you can't change it up on him now. I do also think that the rule is correct the way it is. Many teams take the special teams returners into account when drafting defenses. I think if you're going to count kick return stats, you need to count them fully. Likewise for defense/special teams stats. How would you like to have the Bears special teams in your lineup and get beat by a Devin Hester return? That doesn't seem very fair.
