Am I the only person who thinks there is no chance that Nicks doesn't play this week??? First, this is a game against another NFC opponent, the results of which factor into tiebreakers for the playoffs. Second, the Giants play @ Philadelphia next week. Coughlin & company have to know that Philly game is not a very winnable game for them. And obviously it's a division game and another NFC opponent.

That said, this game against STL is a very winnable game for them. In fact, considering they play Philly next and could start 0-3, I think this game against STL is a must-win for them, which to me means they will put Nicks on the field, even if he's only 80%. And with the STL secondary all banged up, 80% could still be good enough for decent fantasy stats....right?

I own Nicks in both my leagues and don't really want to make room to add Hixon or Salas (or whoever) as insurance for just 1 game.

So does anyone think that Nicks actually won't play??? Seems crazy to me, considering what's at stake for the Giants.

Rotowire:

Hakeem Nicks (knee, questionable) reiterated Friday that he will play on Monday Night Football against the Rams.

"I'll be out there Monday," said Nicks after turning in a "limited" Friday practice, consisting mostly of individual drills. "The swelling is gone, the pain ain't really there anymore. I think I'll be all right." The decision on whether to play Nicks will still be left up to the Giants' medical staff. Said coach Tom Coughlin, "He'll have an opinion, because he has to say what he feels like. The doctors are ultimately going to make that decision."

The must-win crap is getting old. Hate to say it, but we're talking about a 6-10 team at best. They lost key players in free agency, didn't replace them, and are decimated by injuries. They have no depth at WR after Nicks and Manningham, scraps at TE, the OL that was solid and cohesive for years is rebuilding, stud corner gone, 6th-round rookie playing mike linebacker, and on it goes. Their schedule is absolutely brutal and they weren't exactly world-beaters last year before they lost all these key guys. Actually I said 6-10 before the season started, now after losing to the skins and how bad they looked, don't be shocked if they are 5-11 or even 4-12. They just aren't very good.

I agree with this. I also think Eli is no Peyton, and he has a good chance to lead the league in interceptions with his poor decision making.
