MTSuper7
He couldn't put up numbers on the Broncos. This was supposed to be the week he finally showed us why he is elite. And if not for the passing game, he'd have been non-existent. However, with Kenny Britt potentially done, does the offensive focus shift back to the run and, if it does, will Chris Johnson finally look like a guy deserving of the nickname CJ2K? My opinion - buy low. The Britt injury significantly changes the Titans' options on offense. Britt was emerging as a legit top 10 WR this year, and he was playing like the MVP of the offense. I wouldn't be surprised if Johnson ends up getting more looks in the screen game now. Nate Washington may emerge as the top threat in the passing game, but I doubt he emerges as anything near the world-beater Britt looked like through the first two games and change... Of course, Britt's absence could thrust Jared Cook into a more prominent role as well. He isn't a bad buy low candidate either, and he may not even be rostered in most standard leagues. Yet why is it that we've been talking about Jared Cook's potential for years, but have virtually nothing on the field to point to to back it up in actual regular season games? But back to Johnson, he has a somewhat favorable schedule over the second half of the season, and he has always been a hard worker, so it stands to reason that he will emerge into a consistent guy again. faceplant
I'm sticking with him because no one would give me good value even if I tried to trade him. If I didn't have him, I probably wouldn't try and get him on my roster.

This is exactly why Tenn. Didn't want to give it to him. I have him on my team and am benching him until he shows up, which I no longer expect (but refuse to drop him!) Scooby's Hubby
at least they were throwing to him some. I got him in the last league I drafted and will keep him.
whomper
I have nobody to blame but myself for having him on my local team. I had him last year and he sucked yet I fell to the temptation again. I am commish of this league. I sent an email after using a draft generator and I got the 2 pick. The guy that got the one pick sends an email to the whole league and says he is taking Vick at # 1 and that I am on the clock. We have a live draft. This guy was essentially alerting everyone to his pick but it wouldnt be official until we get to the draft. Since I had the 2 and he said he was taking Vick , I , like an idiot, penciled in adp for myself and didnt really aggresively research other options at 2 we get to draft night and the guy with the 1 pick , about 10 minutes before the draft kicks off and smiling like aq jackass, informs us that he was just kidding and he takes adp. I should have done my research instead of taking him seriously on his email and I was left with my pepper in my hand. So I took what I thought was a safe pick and grabbed cj. Im an idiot
nelsosi
With the emergence of Britt, I was looking at CJ as a trade target for sure. Britt was going to make defenses back off the box as the season progressed. I think his injury now hurts CJ more than it helps him -- he's going to be looking at 8 or 9 in the box on every play again now.

When you have a guy like CJ3 who can break the long one on any play I don't mind the "8 in the box" scenario. Once he gets by the linebackers he's off to the races. I'm sticking with him ........ and Arian!

His longest run this season is 9 yards. And he hasn't taken a long run to the house since the middle of last season.

Im an idiot I was in in a similar spot with the 2nd pick. I'm commissioner and I too wondered and speculated as I had a very strong feeling ADP would go first. I was inches from snapping up Ray Rice. Anyway, I'm a total moron too. I took CJ and am regretting it as I stand 0-3. His contract has taken away his motivation, clearly. He's just a mediocre back now and no better than the likes of Shonn Greene, etc. However . . . see below . . . I think you drop CJ and pick up Arian Foster off the WW... Luckily . . . I predict my team will be an unstoppable beast in the final half of the season, as I DID in FACT, pick up Arian Foster of the WW!!! Shockingly, some guy dropped him and yes, that's what Bronco Billy was referring to. Edited September 26, 2011 by TurboCowboy

That's a generous offer, CJ2K hasn't put up any numbers that would have me giving up that much. What people who have CJ2K have to realize is that while they feel they are getting rolled in a trade. You're 3 games into a season, if he's been the reason you've been losing, and you sit somewhere like 0-3, you cant afford many more losses. You got him at whatever spot in the draft but if he's not producing you wont get a top guy for him. So forget your ADP, and open up to plan of, salvage your season encase he doesn't start preforming well till week 6. SecondString
Buy low if you don't have him, keep him if you do. He's gonna be fine, he just completed the third week of his pre-season. Right on schedule.

I came out an auction with Arian Foster, Mendenhall, and C Johnson and thought I was just going to be the wishbone from hell. Instead, Jay-Freaking-Cutler is carrying my team and, in all likelihood will be 0-3 after tonight. Who knows, Johnson could got bat-chight starting next week, but at least Turner has shown signs of life already and I think ATL should turn it around and give him reason to tote the rock. I liked Marshall this year and it's not like he's let me down, but he hasn't been so money that there's no chance of Wayne doing better than him going forward. He loses at both slots in that trade and calls it a "fair deal". It is definitely "buy low" time on CJ2K
detlef
Turner really lit it up yesterday didn't he..? I'd rather roll with CJ and Marshall Turner at least had a pulse in weeks 1 and 2, turning in 100+ yards both weeks. With Britt out, I like ATL's chances to get their offense on track more than I like Tennessee's. As far as Marshall v Wayne, Marshall has been putting up decent, but not great numbers and that offense isn't looking quite as high-flying as it seemed week one. Obviously, this thing could blow up in my face. Then again, CJ could continue to plod along at 2 ypc. DanTheMan_5
I'd rather have CJ than Turner for sure, especially if it's a PPR I like Marshall a whole lot more than Wayne mainly because the Colts offense is just so pathetic this season. I would NOT have pulled off that trade.

DanTheMan_5
I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm not saying it was a terribly lopsided trade. Heck, you may end up being right. So, we'll wait and see! I just really like the TEN rushing schedule this season. I am a CJ2K owner and I am none too happy about is 2 YPC either, however I just can't help but think of all the cushy matchups he has this season. Denver was supposed to be a relatively "cushy" match-up for Tenn. I suppose it came down to like ATL's chances of getting their offense on track and, thus, liking Turner's chances of getting TDs. And now that Britt is out of the picture, I'm afraid that teams aren't going to have much reason to load up against the run.
