mrbass24
Got him in a few leagues and after everyone of his games I say "Next Week,Next Week is when I pull the trigger" then I get gun shy and bench him. Don't know why I'm so gun shy, but this week started Ryan Fitz over him. How many of you are rolling with him and how many are holding back and How many plan on rolling with him soon? Oh and in 2 of my Dynasty leagues he will stay on the Taxi Squad for a year or so.
historymike
I refused to buy into the Cam Newton hype, and now I regret it. Cam is putting up top-five FF numbers in the first four weeks, and it appears that Carolina is content to let him wing the ball 35-45 times a game. Oh, and did I mention the guy can run? I could have had Newton in two leagues with the 15th or 16th pick, but I let my smarts get in the way of taking a chance on him.

I got him in the last round of my money league's draft and dropped him before week 1 to pick up Tate because I figured it would take Newton a few weeks to get into any sort of groove
historymike
Heh - in one league Newton was still there after Week Two, though the last-place team snagged him ASAP on the waiver wire that Wednesday.
panhead55
I drafted him in every league. Now I just have to figure out what t do with him.
stethant
Drafted Roethlisberger as my starter, picked up Cam after week 1 and started him week 3 and again this week. Pretty easy call in my case - way more dynamic than Ben with higher upside. Cam's "off" week in week 3 was still comparable to Ben playing the Colts. Definitely a harder call if your other choice at QB is Fitzpatrick. Edited October 3, 2011 by stethant

panhead55
Do you guys believe he will still be putting up these kind of numbers ? We've seen that he has a very high ceiling in weeks 1,2, and 4. We've seen because of his legs, he has a very high floor in week 3.
Seahawks21
They're going to start giving more carries to DeAngelo at some point aren't they? If you don't think they are, then Newton is a very safe fantasy QB for the rest of the season.

Not true about week 3. The only reason he threw for so little is due to a massive downpour during the game. I don't know how any passes were completed during that mess. brg88tx
op, i'm in the same boat. if i had started cam instead of fitzpatrick i would have won yesterday. i told myself in a drunken haze yesterday that i'm starting cam every game from here on out, and the sober me still agrees. that's my plan. twiley
Here's the deal - check back with this thread on Sunday. If I'm not starting him then put him in, he'll have a monster day. I'm gold when it comes to leaving points on the bench.
Patsfan984
I picked him up on the ww after week 1. Started him in week 3 in the flop game when Romo got hurt. Glad I stuck with him this week. I like that he can throw and run. With Romo sucking so bad, I have to keep him in there.

I think two big keys to his fantasy value are: 1) Cam is essentially the Panthers goal-line RB 2) The Panthers will often be playing from behind, leading to lots of passes and garbage time points Edited October 3, 2011 by nelsosi
nelsosi
He still needs work on his throwing accuracy, but the amazing things to me are how unrattled he looks under pressure and how he continues to look downfield when he's avoiding the rush (when many other mobile QBs -- hello Vick -- would be tucking and running)

SouthtownWarriors
Cheers My team is 1-0 with him in the lineup, and 0-3 with out him. Cam Newton will take me to a championship or bust!
michaelman
If anyone is still looking for that waiver wire GEM pick up (last year's Michael Vick) that will lead you to a championship... it was Cam Newton.. Week1 pick up. If you slept on him.. you've already lost
baddfish2
So, who wouldn't you bench in favor of Newton? Obviously no one is sitting Rodgers, Brady or Brees in favor of Cam, but what about the likes of Philip Rivers?
mrbass24
Haven't watched any if there games, but if he keeps producing but the team keeps falling short, there looking at a high draft pick again in 2012.... Do they go for a weapon at wr for Newton , or a def player?

Obviously no one is sitting Rodgers, Brady or Brees in favor of Cam, but what about the likes of Philip Rivers? i'm facing that question now. have Rivers as my starter in my dynasty league. drafted Newton. Rivers has put up yards but has been sluggish with TDs. i'm going with Rivers next week vs Denver. Newton the next week for Rivers' bye week. after that its based on what Newton did the last two weeks.

Maybe Vick depending on health. That's it right now. EDIT: maybe Stafford too Edited October 3, 2011 by nelsosi
