detlef
Talk to anyone in sports in these parts and mention your confusion as to why NCSU basically pushed him out of the program, and you get "you just don't understand." OK, what don't I understand? Mind you, he never put up numbers quite this eye-popping, mostly because State was never as good as Wisky. But he absolutely carried that offense when he was in Raleigh. What you're seeing this year did not come out of nowhere. And I understand that NCSU's new QB is not the main reason why they suck so badly. They can't stop anyone and they keep losing D players to injury, making this worse. But who lets a guy this good just walk? In college of all places, where everyone moves on eventually anyway? I mean, I get it in the pros, where you might pull the plug a year too early on a top QB so you can hand the keys over to the QB in waiting. But this may be the first time where a D-1 school, handed it's best player walking papers (without scandal, mind you, they were just tired of working around his baseball schedule), only to have him show up at a better school and just tear it up. Thank you very much for him. A friend of mine coached LG Travis Frederick and Travis told him that Wilson mastered the playbook in like two weeks. He said it was amazing to watch. We are very fortunate to have him.

Don't thank me, I'm not a NCSU fan. Which is why I'm just bewildered about this rather than being pissed.
Square
I dunno, but he looks very legit to me. Nebraska's schedule didn't look very easy to start with as I knew whisky would be an early test. They would've been a tough team to stop regardless, but getting a senior QB with his tools makes them a very good team. I've never really heard of a senior QB being "released" his senior year. Crazysight
I don't know, but I've yet to see him listed on any of these 2012 mock drafts. I imagine that's because he's only 5'11? Do you think his skills could translate to the NFL level despite his lack of size? Edited October 20, 2011 by Crazysight
