Ditkaless Wonders
I don't think it will be a contest, and I see the Jets winning by 20+. This cute story of the non-passing full back will come to an end Thursday night, thank you. Should be an interesting game to watch. The Jets will be traveling a long way on a short week and look to be without Tomlinson. As for the Broncos, well their current style of play certainly makes the jets most talked about defender an irrelevancy. I mean who cares if you can't throw against Revis if you don't throw at all. I hope Thursday does not in any way answer the questions Tebow presents. I just love the way this makes people lose their taco.

Pretty bold prediction for a team who just had their asses handed to them when they couldn't move the ball against the worst defense in the league and now have to fly across the country on a short week. Maybe Fatosaurus Rex can guarantee a W for them tomorrow. Then it's a sure thing. Edited November 16, 2011 by Bronco Billy

Bronco Billy
Their offense won't have to do much. Well, that's good. With Sanchez at QB, not doing much is what he excels at.
nelsosi
And is it worth it to completely rebuild your roster and system just to accommodate one player? I mean, you better be damn sure about him if you're going to go down that path.
otis29
And is it worth it to completely rebuild your roster and system just to accommodate one player? I mean, you better be damn sure about him if you're going to go down that path. I think that's the ultimate question. Even if I suspend my disbelief for a few moments and see Tebow as a player that can get the Broncos to the playoffs in a weak division, I just don't see him doing anything to get this team directed to winning the whole enchilada. Isn't that what every team is supposed to be building towards? If Tebow gets you to a certain point and you realize he ain't getting you to the ultimate prize, don't you have to blow up the whole system AGAIN? If you're a Broncos fan, shouldn't the long term be more important than winning a few regular season games in 2011? The whole thing just baffles me. Azazello1313
Question for Tebow supporters and Billy On the radio, they keep talking about how Tebow could be successful if the right system is designed and implemented for his skilset. I think most of us agree that if you play to his strengths, he can succeed. Obviously, his style is more dangerous to his body, so long-term success is a variable. But the sports guys on the radio say: in order to do this, Elway, et al. must go "all-in". They must coach up the offensive guys to play in that type of system and/or replace them. In addition, DEN must bring in backup QBs who can run the same system. Backup QBs like Tebow aren't difficult to find as they usually fall in the draft. So, does the team mgt, coaches, and players have what it takes to go "all-in" for such a system and total change to maximize success? I think that is way overstated. I don't think NFL o-linemen necessarily have to be specially "coached up" to be able to run block. and no, your backup QB doesn't need to be the same kind of player. that is just dumb, refuted by countless examples from the NFL and college. Bronco Billy
So, does the team mgt, coaches, and players have what it takes to go "all-in" for such a system and total change to maximize success? DEN has no intention of moving forward gearing the O around Tebow or someone with similar skills. If so, you'd design a short/intermediate O geared to rolling each way with increasingly more complex progressions as time goes on - very similar to what Shanahn did for Plummer. You'd see check downs designed to provide hot receivers and take advantage of teams that send additonal pressure relentlessly like DET did. That would also include side and middle screens, which DEN ran in the preseason when all 3 QBs were getting time as well as when Orton was starting, but which they have almost completely abandoned now that Tebow is starting. Hell, when's the last time you saw a simple slant or waggle to the TE off a chip and into an area the LB has vacated? You'll see a very occasional belly pattern by a WR or a RB headed to the flats, but that's about the extent of it. The pass O pretty much is not limited to, "Guys, go deep. Tim, take 7 steps and then try to hit them 40 yds downfield." Pretty obvious that DEN has no plan to develop Tebow as a QB by giving him incrementally greater reads and responsibility, or to develop an O that compliments the read option running game. stevegrab
I was just catching up on some players news and read these comments from Fox about Tebow (made Tuesday 11/15) Denver Broncos head coach John Fox stated that he will do whatever it takes with QB Tim Tebow in the offense to put the team in a situation to win games, including running the ball 55 times against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 10. 'Do whatever the hell it takes,' Fox laughed. 'I mean, what the hell? You don't get points for style in this league. Let me tell you something: My man is really good in this offense. You know what I mean? If we were trying to run a regular offense, he'd be screwed.'

As goes the Broncos, goes this thread. Win and it will never die....lose and it will most CERTAINLY never die. But honestly, I would rather be talking about Tebow and the T-Bone Offense over Favre any day of the week.

pokerboss
the guy is brutal, a great competitor, but a brutal qb. if anyone in that orginazation believes he is the long term answer.....i laugh at them out loud. yeah yeah yeah, 4 wins this year.....KC, MIA, OAK (carson palmer at qb after 3 days in town), and now a vastly overated east coast team....and arent most of them, without their two best offensive players. put the koolaid down, step away from the bandwagon, and stop smoking that shhhtufffff. Cowboyz1
I can honestly say my intention was to avoid this thread until it dropped away. After last weeks 2 completions and then tonight's rediculously unbareable offensive game for 3 quarters and 13 minutes I was content to let the world of tebow pass me by. Then I watch this kid drive 95 yards with a bb gun and duck tape capping it off with a Td run against an all out Rex Ryan blitz to win yet another game. Say what you want about the Guy but he's 4-1. How I have know idea but if the game is close he fires up the magic carpet and drives it to the endzone. Denver's d is playing some lights out d And they have the mental toughness to watch their qb throw on the sideline without going stark raving mad! Unbelievable. Never seen anything like it in all my years of football. Rex shaking his head in discust was perfect.
Ditkaless Wonders
Seems like a decent and likable sort in his interviews. He is polite, respectful, and not at all boastful, pretty much the opposite of every obnoxious, self centered athlete the media has served us up over the last 20 years. I would let him marry my sister. Edited November 18, 2011 by Ditkaless Wonders
