hooknladder
Gruden on Keyshawn: “You’ve got to have some thick skin” Posted by Michael David Smith on October 26, 2011, 12:33 PM EDT Getty ImagesOn Sunday, ESPN analyst Keyshawn Johnson took a shot at ESPN analyst Jon Gruden, saying that Gruden messed with his head when Johnson played for him. On Wednesday, Gruden took his opportunity to respond. During an appearance on ESPN Radio’s Mike & Mike in the Morning, Gruden was asked about players publicly criticizing coaches, and he quickly turned it into an opportunity to bring up Johnson’s comments. “I had a guy on SportsCenter say he couldn’t get along with me the other day on TV,” Gruden said. “So I know how it feels. You’ve got to have some thick skin, and you’ve got to know when things get tough there are going to be some negative things said.” It actually wasn’t SportsCenter, it was Sunday NFL Countdown, but it was interesting that Gruden felt the need to bring up Johnson’s comments. If Gruden’s skin were really thick, wouldn’t he just let it go? In any event, I have a feeling this is the last we’re going to hear about it, as ESPN will likely tell both guys to put a sock in it. stevegrab
It wouldn't take much for a coach to mess with a pee brain like Keyshawn.
stevegrab
I've actually been somewhat surprised with Keyshawn. He's a better analyst and more articulate than most ex-players. Yeah I was going to compare him to Michael Irvin (he's such an annoying loud mouth on the NFLN shows) but realized that wasn't fair. I don't watch him that much, but agree he isn't really that bad. Slugs3511
Believe me, he is not the only pee brain on espn (the overhyped, entertainment, everyone has their own show, name, ridiculous show) or on the NFL network too..... The worst may be Kordell Stewart.....he is just terrible...

BeeR
But both apply. I gave up watching sports "shows" a long long time ago. ESPN did one helluva job dumbing them down yet became popular so everyone followed suit. It's all a ridiculous circus and they keep pouring gas on the flames with the most idiotic/asinine ex-players imaginable. I'm sure Owens and Chad Whatevero (ad nauseum) will join in when they retire. Dick Schaap must be spinning in his grave. Edited October 27, 2011 by BeeR
