wildcat2334
Jim RomeJoe Buck Tony Kornheiser Bryant Gumbel great list- couldn't agree more. Also: C Berman - so tired, put him out to pasture already and my latest who annoys the chit outta me to no end: Mike Tirico - he does games like he is talking to an audience of 5 yr olds, just beating simple things to death, going on and on about the rules, etc. just brutal. Potman
Love the DP Show - One of the few radio shows I'll actually listen to. He's definitely got an ego, but he's one of the few who can back it up. He's on a celebrity status that Berman could never get close to. +1 I listen to the DP show everyday. It's by far the best sports talk show around.

lennykravitz2004
Seems the NFL players have their own list as well... How is Buck #12, though?
Zooty
Seems the NFL players have their own list as well... How is Buck #12, though? should be #1 Odd that the list was almost entirely ex-players
giggity
I'm very surprised no one has mentioned my least favorite announcer for college football... Verne Lundequist... Half the time he doesn't even know which team has the ball, never gets the players right, and makes more stupid, overtly wrong observations than anyone out there. Should have retired long, long ago...

awahl63
JON GRUDEN. So annoying... He has ruined MNF for me as I can't tune out his babbling. Edited December 16, 2011 by awahl63
lawofmurphy
Broadcasters (the Jim Rome's, Skip Bayless', etc.) are actors playing a role. Bayless reminds me of this radio guy from a long time ago who would do voices on his show...but listeners didn't know he did voices. So he would do an interview where he was really both the interviewer and the interviewee, but the audience wouldn't know it. He'd have the "interviewee" say really absurd/offensive things and the "interviewer" would get outraged and callers would yell and scream. It was actually pretty brilliant. Bayless just acts the role of the contrarian and if you "hate" him, then he's doing his job well.
Azazello1313
joe buck is the immediate no-brainer for me. but thanks to whoever it was that reminded me how much I hate larry merchant. the whole HBO boxing team, really. having these brainless windbags calling almost every big fight has done as much to ruin boxing as don king. I was about to say "Boxing still exists ?" I haven't watched a boxing fight in many, many years. Sad, as I used to love it. Now, it's just UFC, but, I don't even see as many of those as I'd like to.
