Planning for bye weeks in the pre-season

Just curious. I don't look at bye weeks when drafting as things tend to change and you can always get fills off the wire. This week will hurt the most, but luck is sometimes good enough. For those that did draft to cover byes, did the plan work out?

The only player I really drafted with the intention of using him on the starter's bye weeks was Ingram as he had what seemed to be nice matchups against Carolina and St. Louis during Rice and Forte's bye weeks. That hasn't worked out but, luckily, I snagged Bradshaw late and have used/am using him instead.

Guess it's obvious by the number of responses there are to this thread how few people actually even consider bye weeks while drafting. Just draft the best players available, and deal with the bye weeks later. By the time bye weeks come around, a lot of things have usually changed anyway. Probably not a good idea to draft a lesser player just because the superior player may have a bye week conflict with another player or two already rostered. Value is value, you can always trade if need be.

Actually I'm in one strange league where we have NO FA pickups except once a season, after the 1/2 way point! So Bye numbers are important. We draft 6 RBs and play 4 every week, so it usually doesn't make it too hard to keep bye-conflicts to a minimum.

Escept this year when I got 2 guys on Week 7 Bye, and 2 on Week 9. No real problem, leaving 4 available each week. UNLESS Jamaal Charles gets hurt and is out for year.

So I play those 2 weeks with 3!
