Chloroform Rx
I haven't had much of an opportunity to watch them play, but just looking over the numbers, here's what I've observed: In 2 games they got trounced ; one was @NO and the other was @BAL. In 1 game OAK put up 25 on them but had under 300 total yards. In every other game they have been pretty effective; however, the only team which posed a real offensive threat was PIT, but they they were able to keep them to 10 points and under 300 yards. With the exception of Miami (306 yards) they've held every other team to under 300 total yards. From what I can tell, in typical leagues they are ranked somewhere between 5-10. In my main money league, which rewards a lot of bonus points, they are #2. With CLE next they very well could be #1 by next week. There is usually not much discussion on D/ST in this forum but this unit in particular I find very interesting considering that just last year they finished dead last in my local. Question: to those that have watched them and/or keep up with them, are they really this good, or is all of this the product of playing tacoty teams? What is different from last year to this year? Are they legit?
King Tut
I recently picked them up in 2 out of my 4 teams. I know they went to a 4-3 this year and signed Johnathan Joeseph to help their 2ndary issues. I think they have Wade Phillips a D coordinator now too, who like Mike Martz is a good coordinator, but horrible head coach. I usually play matchup with them and my other D. They are good, not great. jdub!
I am sticking with Houston and Chicago as my matchup plays. Houston has 126 and Chicago has 116 points in my format. I have never seen them play (or at least never paid attention), but you can't argue with the numbers.
JUMbotron
They are tough and they execute the new 3-4 defense much better than anyone expected this soon. The Texans tend to deflate the opponents' fantasy players.
