Here we go again folks....

tweet from @MaryKayCabot who is a terrific Browns beat writer for the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Here's the tweet:#browns rb Peyton hillis looked distraught after re-injuring his hamstring today. It looked bad, folks.

From rotoworld:

Peyton Hillis aggravated his hamstring injury again in Friday's practice.

Hillis pulled up limp on a run and promptly threw the ball and his helmet in frustration before walking off the field with a trainer. At this point, we have to believe he's going to end up missing another game. Expect Chris Ogbonnaya to get the starting nod against the Texans. We will have Hillis' status update in a few hours.

This whole situation is one giant clusterf*ck. Conventional wisdom would have suggested Hillis rest all last week so he could go this week. At the time, Hardesty was healthy, so I don't see what the point was to rush him back.

Well, in the one league I have Hillis, I was able to grab Ogbonnaya. In another, I grabbed Ogbonnaya to fill in for MJD's bye.

News blurb should be: "Hillis fakes another setback."

Worthless brat won't be able to get a job in the UFL next year.

Right because faking injuries is a great way to get paid when you're looking for a new contract.

Utter nonsense

where there is smoke, there's fire, blind Browns homer.

He went through 3 agents in 4 months? Why? he's a jerk. Agents were probably advising him to play hard for a contract.

He left a 2 dollar tip on a hundred dollar check. Why? Jerk.

The strep throat fiasco?

Dude can't even show up for a children's event?

He's an arrogant jerk, and obviously doesn't want to be in Cleveland. He will not play another down this year and take his chance in FA.

Great, so the guy is a total jerk. That doesn't change the fact that it makes no sense for him to be faking injuries if his goal is to get paid by someone.

Ha-ha, you don't know me at all. I am far from a blind homer, I just know that a player with no past history of high performance prior to 2010 isn't going to pretend to be injured all year and hope he can get paid in free agency. Most people who understand anything about football know that is crazy.

You sound like a pure Hillis hater who has an axe to grind, what happened did you draft Jerome Harrison in 2010 and miss getting Hillis.

He may be jerk, but this view that he is faking is beyond laughable.

Does it makes sense to sit out a game because of Strep Throat? I've had it plenty of times. 2 days of anti-biotics and you're fine. The guy had Strep Throat on a Monday or Tuesday, and sat out... Sunday??? That's what I call utter nonsense.

If you say so doc. I'm sure you've got all the medical records, tests, treatments etc that relate to Hillis. And I'm sure your job requires the physical exertion of an NFL player.

You've obviously got your mind made up, enjoy the rest of your Hillis hate filled day

You're an arrogant jerk. Don't get me started on tipping, but that we pay to eat at a restaurant then pay THEIR employees salary independently from the meal is beyond retardation. And how do you know you aren't wrong? In all likelyhood you are wrong, but hey who cares, you're an arrogant jerk. Smoke. Fire.

No way he's faking at this point. Maybe a game or two because he was pissed off, but missing games at this point does nothing more than cost him money. A hammy is just brutal. Anybody who has had hammy issues will tell you that once you think it is good and fine, you need to wait an extra week or two, or it is going to pop again. He needs to sit out for a month. He's going to get absolutely killed for doing so and is going to cost himself MILLIONS, but he has no choice. Rushing back from a hammy or quad or groin will get you every single time. A groin or quad you can play with when it isn't 100%, a hammy you can't.

Treatment

Most sore throats are caused by viruses, not strep-related bacteria. Strep cannot be accurately diagnosed by symptoms or a physical exam alone. Many of the other causes of sore throats may have the same symptoms.

Sore throats should only be treated with antibiotics if the strep test is positive. Antibiotics are taken to prevent rare but more serious health problems, such as rheumatic fever.

Penicillin or amoxicillin is usually first tried. Antibiotics should be taken for 10 days, even though symptoms are usually gone after few days.

Expectations (prognosis)

Symptoms of strep throat usually get better in about 1 week. Untreated, strep can lead to serious complications.

Prevention

Most people with strep are contagious until they have been on antibiotics 24 - 48 hours

Is Ogbonnaya a good pickup?

Is he a better play than say.. Reggie Bush? Marshawn Lynch? or Nate Washington?

I have Hardesty and pretty bad RBs in general so I picked up Obgonnaya on waivers this week (not even knowing if Hillis would be back or not, but knowing that Hardesty is likely out 2-4 weeks).

As far as who is a better play, that's really an advice question that I won't answer.

He caught five passes on eight targets (for 24 yards) out of the backfield last week, so if you play in a PPR, he could put up decent numbers, especially since the Browns typically play from behind. His backup is a guy the Browns just signed (Thomas Clayton), so Ogbonnaya should get almost all the RB work, whatever that amounts to.

I remember seeing Silent G in a preseason game and he looked pretty good running the ball, but may have been against backups. He was a solid contributer at Texas, and a converted WR coming out of high school, so could probably do worse in a PPR league.

You know, just when I'm about to completely give up all hope for you, you manage to put forth some sage wisdom.
