snoop2
Why would the Steelers and Packers not play these both more? Brown steps in for Ward and puts up solid numbers. Driver is 36 years old and hasn't posted more than 40 yards receiving in something 2 years. Just doesn't make send to me.

Capt. Stanky
GB is just loaded at WR. Driver isn't really the problem, it's JJones, Driver, Cobb and also Finley. I'm still surprised they resigned JJones. I figured when they drafted Cobb that meant the end to JJones. I love Jordy, but he's going to be inconsistent. Ward is the leader of that offense. I think that, coupled with the fact that he's still the best blocking WR in the league, is why he's going to continue to be on the field. I could see this being Ward's last year though. I think us Fantasy Footballers often lose grasp of the real football aspect of things.
snoop2
Answer : Greg Jennings, James Jones, Mike Wallace, Heath Miller (not to mention Driver and Ward) edit: Oh, and Sanders typically each team has 2 wr's on field so each of these guys can start on the other side of Jennings and Wallace. Many times in the NFL they will even have a 3rd receiver lined up in the slot. BTH Sanders seems to be pretty average.
cbs0121
Yeah, Green Bay has 3 of the top 20 WRs in the NFL and one of the top 3 TEs. Aaron Rodgers deserves all the love he gets, but folks still don't seem to understand just how good the Packers receiving corps is. The Saints have an elite WR and an elite TE plus a bunch of solid guys to compliment - GB has those elite guys plus excellent guys to compliment. It's sick how good those guys are. I agree with you, though if you look at Brown's production when inserted it would seem to overshadow Ward's abilities plus he can lead from the sideline. I don't have Brown on my squad, it just seems to me he is quite talented at the WR position. Not the biggest fan of Jones, but GB runs some many different packages I am sure it strains the defense, but NFL teams at times I think out think themselves. Platooning RB's hurts runners to get a feel for the game and get in a groove. If they are worried about injury, well it only takes one play. The NFL has structured the game around the passing game, so I doubt we will see a change from high powered passing attacks since db's can hardly touch a guy. I am not sure I like the direction the game is going really.
Chloroform Rx
I own both of them in my main league and for me it's not very difficult to understand why they don't see the field more often. I think most of their success can be attributed to being fresh and not having to run routes on every play. Not to mention, we're talking about arguably the two best teams in the NFL as if they're doing something wrong. Even though I own them both and would love for their production to be increased, I definitely believe they are being utilized appropriately to maximize the success of the team as a whole. I also believe that if they were in on every play, Nelson might see a few more targets, but I don't think Brown's production increases at all. snoop2
This. Did you watch football just 5 yrs ago, 10, 15? Most teams played their best players every snap. I think its because the NFL has hand cuffed the defense actually playing defense. Corners can't even close to a guy without being flagged, and safeties aren't sure exactly how they supposed to hit a player with out being flagged. Offenses just rotate guys and tire out the D. If a team has a top flight QB, they have a shot every game. Remember guys like Shaun Alexander, Priest Holmes, Edge James, Terrell Owens in his prime, Randy Moss, Antonio Freeman, Shannon Sharpe, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Tiki Barber, Jamaal Lewis, Corey Dillon, Troy Brown, Tony G, Torri Holt, Issac Bruce. Going way back, Christian Okoye, Emmit Simth, Michael Irvin, Thurman Thomas, and so on. These guys never left the field. Look at what Bradshaw did a few weeks ago when Jacobs was out, 3 tds, and a 100 yards? Antonio Brown is clearly a better talent than Ward is right now, and a guy like Jordy measures 6'3" and can run. Just stating both these guys should see the field more. When they do, they just produce.

They bring leadership to the field and can still be counted on to make plays. If you had to make just one play to win a championship, I would throw the ball to Ward or Driver over Brown and Nelson. This is not to say that next year they wont be the fulltime starter, their time will come. Edited November 5, 2011 by Jolly Rodgers

Bronco Billy
I can't speak to Brown, but having watched Nelson all season, the kid gets himself open well but he just flat out drops way too many passes. Seems like Rodgers and GB have gotten tired of it and have decided that Jones is the better option.

A slot WR getting thrown shorter passes will have an advantage over WRs who get a much higher percentage of deep passes, since deep passes are more difficult to complete, but when it comes down to it coaches and QBs are going to give more love to WRs who are more reliable. Look at some of the names on the list and look where they are on their respective teams. That helps to explain some of the woes this year of guys like Nelson and Brown, as well as both M Williams, Plax, etc
