headfirst22
I’ve been playing fantasy football for about 9 years now and the league has always started 2 QBs. I was curious as to roughly what percentage of leagues do start 2 QBs. Also, all the info here is pertaining to using only one, including all the draft info. Is there someplace that gives more 2 QB strategies? Thanks
Capt. Stanky
I've been playing in 2 QB leagues since I started this FF addiction 13 years ago. I prefer it, but you're not going to find much info around leagues that start 2 QB's. Personally, I think it makes things far more difficult. You can't just sit back and wait on a QB in these leagues. I would love to see the FF world shift to more 2 QB leagues, but I doubt it will happen. headfirst22
I probably should mention that we are a 10 team league. Any more than 10 means that not every team can have 3 starters on their rosters, necessary for bye weeks.
Capt. Stanky
You're just not going to find much info on the Internet. What are you looking for? Let me know and I might be able to provide a different point of view.
detlef
Starting 2 QBs is absolutely the most effective way to increase the importance of them in the draft. You can make passing TDs worth 10 and it actually does little to change their relative value in the draft, because it doesn't change the fact that 32 guys touch the football on nearly every offensive play and have the chance to do something with it. When you only need about 1/3 of those guys to be worth a crap, it means you simply don't have to spend a high pick on one. Now, once you've got the top 20-24 going, now we're talking, and I think it makes for a very fun league. I also think it is absolutely essential if your league has less than 12 teams to have particularly large starting line-ups. I'm in a 10 team league that starts 2 QBs, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, and 2 R/W/T. Certainly separates the men from the boys when you've got a deep enough roster to make it tough to find reliable starters at so many roster spots. Are you going to make sure that you've grabbed your 2nd QB before you get to the iffy prospects? Well, that means you may be trotting out some pretty shaky options at the flex. Did you wait on your QB2 and pick up studs at WR and RB and still land Cam Newton or Ryan Fitzpatrick late? Nicely done.
