keggerz
We all watch games and can't believe when one of our players isn't awarded a tackle, pass defended etc... here is a VIDEO "QUIZ" that you can take to see just how hard an official scorers job is...just remember, they aren't just watching "their" player and they score the play almost instantly... The quiz won't work on tablets or smart phones but should work on most if not all PCs...if you have trouble once you click the link, meaning you don't see anything...try clicking on the "play" button...that should bring up the video box and then you can press play to run the video. If you have any problems running it let me know and I will try to walk you thru it. EDIT: you might be asked to download ms silverlight...it is safe http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/ Microsoft Silverlight is a free web-browser plug-in that enables interactive media experiences, rich business applications and immersive mobile apps. keggerz
Nice link (though the website is kind of brutal). Tough job as a scorekeeper, I hope the use a DVR stream is probably lagging due to increased bandwidth...when I first used it I had no issues at all...after I posted it and tried it out it lagged some..I asked permission before I posted it and was told I could do it but to let him know when I did so he could check the bandwidth...that would be my guess as to why the lag...my guess is that it wasn't something made to be accessed by so many...but I was lucky that Chris allowed me to post it for everyone to check out...and as far as I know, they don't use a DVR...just look at how fast stats are updated online while you are watching a game. keggerz
Nice link (though the website is kind of brutal). Tough job as a scorekeeper, I hope the use a DVR I got an answer with regards to your DVR comment... A few clubs (less than a third, I think) have DVRs for the stats crew. Only MetLife Stadium has a high definition DVR that I know of. Eventually they all will get one, it’s something I think will be a big help. Probably not for next season though... ...We record all the games on high definition DVRs at the League office. All the stats crews can call an 800 number to have us look at a play if they missed it or have a question about it. Doesn’t happen very often for IDP type plays but we do get calls for strange, how do I score this, kind of plays. I’m in the room for every game.
