tallguylehigh
I am #9 out of a 14 team league and we just agreed to a trader earlier in the week. I get: Matthew Stafford (his backup QB) H. Nicks I send him: A. Johnson J. Cutler J. Battle (both of his starting RBs are out) We both agreed to the trade, however come to find out the trade didn't go through. By no means was this collusion, it was two teams in the bottom half of the league making some fairly drastic changes to try to improve our teams. What would you have done if you saw this trade came up in your league?
Ditkaless Wonders
I would think the trade was lopsided. I would then mind my own business because what I think is not always a correct assessment.
theprofessor
Fair trade. I'd be upset too and would never, ever play in a league where they vetoed trades based on owner's "perceived" value.
i_am_the_swammi
Both stud WRs are hurt...but if healthy, AJ gets the slight nod. So essentially, its Stafford and a slight advantage at WR for Cutler and Battle? What am I missing?
stevegrab
What did your commissioner say was the reasoning for rejecting the trade? That is where you should start, and that information would be pertinent to any discussion. Do trades get vetoed regularly, and is the league informed when it happens (so that you'd know what is considered "unfair"). As a commish for almost 20 years of my local league I'd have no reason to reject the trade.
Savage Beatings
I would probably leave the league. I would write a polite letter to all of the owners saying that either the Commissioner believes I am a cheater that has colluded with another owner, in which case I don't deserve to be an owner in the league, or the Commissioner believes that he can run my team better than I can, and in either case there is no place for me here any more. Then I would immediately stop managing the team beginning now.

Make it clear why you're leaving but play out the string as you committed to do when you paid your dues and drafted your squad. Takes 20 seconds to set a lineup at 12:50PM every Sunday. CowboysDiehard
Looks fair to me, and you are both consenting adults who paid their dues. Vetoes are stupid. As a commish I got rid of them this year in favor of an earlier trade deadline (same as the NFLs essentially). We had a nasty situation last year with a group of guys not liking a trade and vetoing it (per our rules at the time). One owner walked over it. No more. That said, not even sure why people post these around here anymore. Prevailing opinion is 90% against trade vetoes and the answer is always 'vote with your feet'. Can we just pin that, and save us all a lot of trouble?

By then, it's too late for me in STL... Put the trade back through a second time, and tell the rest of the league to get a clue. Keep submitting the trade until it goes through. Be persistent.
