tazinib1
So who picks him up? Chicago? Houston? Either way, it saves the Broncos $2.5million if he is claimed off waivers.

overworkedirish
Whew! Good job Miami not biting at the ridiculous offer at the beginning of the season.
bpwallace49
WOW! Chicago has a lot of cap room . . . . and needs a backup to Hanie . .
Whiskey Pimp
I think Chicago HAS to get him right? I mean they have a good record and need to keep it up to get into the playoffs and I don't think Hanie is going to get it done. How is the waiver order set in the NFL? Brentastic
WOW! Chicago has a lot of cap room . . . . and needs a backup to Hanie . . I agree. As much as I like Hanie and anxious to see what he can do, we need to at least grab Orton just in case he sucks and/or Cutler is out longer and Hanie goes down. We're in the playoff hunt and we need a QB.

ponyshow69
He'll go to Chi-Town........It makes too much sense.........2 mill is hard to swallow, but it's a no brainer...
Pope Flick
If Orton can't play Martz's system he's useless to Da Bears. And I think that's the case...
Seahawks21
Yeah, I've been hearing the Bears are looking at past Martz QB's (McCown, O'Sullivan). I think the Texans make more sense. Is Miami still interested?
Bronco Billy
Well, DEN will recover at least something that they overspent on that turd.

Bronco Billy
Leave your anus and colon alone. My wild oats have turned into prunes and All-Bran. What in the Seven Hells?!?!?
rocknrobn26
Interesting thought, but w/ the McCaskey's unprecedented tight purse strings AND the fact that Pope mentioned (not a Martz style player) I don't see it happening, though won't deny it could. BeeR
How about the Colts? He immediately becomes their best healthy QB easily and could at least win a game or 2. Or is Luck worth the ultimate humiliation of an 0-16 season?

Jackass
Call me crazy but I think he makes it thru waivers i tend to agree as well. if a team has no chance of the playoffs like KC or Indy why bother picking him up. Maybe a team like Houston picks him up as a backup/ insurance.
hooknladder
Report: Bears will claim Orton Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 22, 2011, 6:15 PM EST Getty ImagesThe neckbeard could be returning to Chicago. Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune reports that the Bears will attempt to claim Kyle Orton off waivers. Actually, McClure said he was confirming Jay Glazer’s report. But Glazer never actually reported anything; he just said the Chiefs or Bears “could” claim Orton and it took a life of its own. Let’s take McClure’s report at face value, though. We’re surprised Mike Martz would embrace the move, but it doesn’t mean the Bears will land Orton. Waiver priority is decided by record, so the 7-3 Bears have to hope a lot of other teams pass. The Chiefs could claim Orton. Even teams like the Colts, Dolphins, or Redskins could try to kick the tires on Orton down the stretch. We hope the Bears get him, if only because it’s a good story. Orton was never good enough for the Bears to fully get on board with, so they traded him in the Jay Cutler deal. Now they want to ask Orton to help get the team back to the playoffs. So that Cutler can take over again.
Czarina
The report on tonight's sports radio news was that Orton negotiated this release from Denver in order to open up the possibility that Chicago would take him back.
