marcheese
He'll probably be gone next year out of GB. How much value does he hold? I guess it depends on his team, but I could see Cleveland as a realistic landing point. Is he worth a stash in keeper leagues, or his value very minimal outside of GB? He has been Rodgers' understudy for a number of years, so that can only help...
bostonsoxandy
I really am torn on him....on the negative side he's a 7th-round draft pick, has only 1 game in the NFL under his belt, and only started at LSU for 1 season. On the positive, he beat out Brian Brohm for the backup job in GB, played really well in the one game against the Patriots and led LSU to a BCS Championship the one year he did start....I'm not sure if he is worth a stash in keepers for this year, just because I don't know how it's gonna turn out and I don't think he's gonna light up the statistics wherever he lands up...and there is the chance that he ends up staying in GB.... And what team would sign him? Most teams in the NFL right now either have a young prospect QB they are high on (Gabbert, Dalton, Cam, Ponder, etc.), have someone in a long-term deal that they are stuck with (Kolb, Fitzpatrick), or have a stud (Brady, Brees, etc.) So the only possibilities that make sense, to me, are MIA, CLE, INDY, and WAS. With Luck, Matt Barkley, Landry Jones, and Robert Griffin III all coming out for the draft next year, all four of those teams could fulfill their need in the draft. The most logical picks would be the Colts taking Luck first overall, Washington or Cleveland taking Barkley (whoever has a better draft slot) and the other one taking Landry, and the Dolphins taking Griffin III. So I'm not sure if there is a team that would even give him the chance as a starter. Right now I guess he ends up back in Green Bay Edited November 23, 2011 by bostonsoxandy
The 13ers
He wants to be a starter. So, he's most likely gone. Personally, I would take a chance on him if I were a GM. He's got 4 years behind AR and he's looked darn good when he does play (he's also played mop up time against MIN). As a GB fan, I would love to see him back, but I believe the Packers are already geared for Graham Harrell to take the back up spot next season. They signed him to their practice squad for an unheard of $1.2 million or some crazy amount. I believe it's the highest amount paid to any practice squad player in the NFL. Kansas City could be an option, and Denver clearly needs an NFL quarterback on their roster ( )

Flynn has been in GB's QB school for a few years, and it shows when he has gotten the very few chances to play in regular season games. That game in NE when Rodgers had a concussion was just as big an eye opener as Rodgers taking over for an injured Favre vs DAL and performing very well some years back. I agree that Flynn is going to seek out a starting QB spot to compete for, and there are some options that will be there next spring. I think there is a very solid chance that he can win a starting spot next year. Not sure what bearing his draft position is when he's been in the league a few years. detlef
I'd love to see him in Seattle. The last time you took a GB back-up it worked out well. Why not again? If I were a GM, I'd rather take a shot on him than some kid out of college. All you hear about is how good this kid is, only you don't hear about it from people who are trying to equate his college game to the pros. You hear it from people in the pros. My guess is that he must be picking up schemes and all that. The stuff you can only wonder if the college kids will be able to do. I mean, I guess I'd take Luck over him if I had the #1, but honestly that almost comes from fear as much as anything else. No GM is going to want to be the guy who had a shot at that kid and turned it down.
