JUMbotron
http://www.ibabuzz.com/oaklandraiders/2011...ing-once-again/ Article from Nov. 14 where a Grade 1 (mildest) foot sprain is mentioned... but yet here we are and he's been out since Week 8. stethant
Lisfranc injuries, or at least the sprain varieties, are graded 1-3 - calling it a grade 1 midfoot sprain (partial tear of the ligament) is technically accurate but admittedly not as precise as we would like. That's not going to get McFadden playing any faster, I realize. I would imagine that in an elite athlete, there is zero advantage to re-stressing the area before it's completely healed. If he completely tears the ligament or fractures something, he's way more hosed than he is now. That assumes the grade 1 call was correct in the first place - could have been hard to tell on the initial MRI if there was a bunch of swelling present. Probably they're playing the recovery by ear based on how he feels from week to week.
JUMbotron
http://www.ibabuzz.com/oaklandraiders/2011...ed-wrs-to-play/ Coach Hue Jackson conceded that since Darren McFadden, out of the Chicago game with a mid-foot sprain, will miss his fourth straight game, it’s going to take awhile to get him up and running once he returns to the practice field.
