isleseeya
Cant survive with VJAX big / huge games every few weeks and duds the other weeks ...He is big , physically gifted , playing for a contract yet too many games this season including today's he disappears he is killing me and i dont understand why the inconsistency and huge disparity in some of his performances compared to others ?? He is really killing me today , champ bailey ( who is not revis ) of not Edited November 27, 2011 by isleseeya
NYCDOG
Agreed. I benched him for the first time last week and paid the price, so I made sure to start him today. He is the most frustrating guy I own. Total crapshoot on when he will go off and not a guy I can depend on. I started out strong in the first set of games this afternoon, but my lead has been significantly whittled down with VJax's ineptitude combined with my opponent having Welker. Guy's a bum
bostonsoxandy
People say this every bad week he has...if you have VJax now you're stuck with him for the better or for the worse. I'm in the same boat, but I don't see why people hate him so much. ESPN sums it up pretty well saying, "It's hard to stomach the roller coaster on a weekly basis, but if you've bought the ticket, you simply have to buckle up and ride." If you're benching him now I believe your'e playing with fire considering you never know when his next explosion happens and he wins you a game single-handedly. injendsm
I don't see why people hate him so much Because he's incredibly inconsistent. He'll blow up one game and then show up and catch just one ball the next. You're much more likely to win in spite of him than you are to win because of him; at least that's been the case for me this year.

NYCDOG
He's basically turning into a Lee Evans with a few more upside games.
coordi88
hes been open a few times taht ive noticed and rivers went elsewhere this game. rivers was just trying to bomb to vjax in the endzone and was hit as he threw also vjax has a history of being shutdown by the champ, so kinda had to expect a lesser game

Maybe you aren't but I tend to hate Rivers more, from what I've seen he has held VJax back just as much as VJax has....Today Rivers is 13 for 28 for 145 yards, averaging 5.2 per pass....That is horrid. He's basically turning into a Lee Evans with a few more upside games. No....Lee Evans is 5'10" and under 200 lbs, VJax is 6'5" 230 lbs....Lee Evans has 2 career 1000 yard seasons, VJax has 2, is on pace for a 3rd, and is 28. Maybe statistically similar but he is superior talent-wise

historymike
You take the good with the bad with VJax. Start him and enjoy the monster weeks, but understand he will put up his share of low-scoring efforts. Personally I would rather have a team filled with high-upside players than predictable players who consistently put up average or slightly above average points. Besides, if you have enough high reward players, you are bound to get 1 or 2 each week that produce. Maybe statistically similar but he is superior talent-wise I wasn't saying they were physically similar, I was making a comment about Vjax in the context of fantasy football, where statistics are all that matter, not physical measurements. I would even venture to say that Vjax should be expected to do better both because of his size and because, on average, he has had a much better QB throwing to him than Lee Evans ever did. TheAdonis2010
id like to have him in a deeper lineup like but if you are in a shallow starting lineup u really took it on the chin this year
historymike
Good news for VJax owners: the SD-Denver game goes to OT. Maybe VJax will catch a few passes in the extra quarter to make up for the ho-hum numbers he posted in quarters 1-4.

I'm not because consistency wins championships. I do agree with you about Rivers, though. He's having a terrible year and I think it's a big reason why VJax isn't doing what I thought he would to this point.

SNOWBOUND33
He's pissing me off. He is no longer a Stud IMO for this year at least. A stud gets you a solid outing 3 out of 4 weeks, not the other way around.

Mark5
I have the Miami version of him.. Brandon Marshall is sooooo close to having hands of stone.. Marshall has all the physical tools to dominate but his attention span stops about .8 seconds before the ball arrives.. how the hell he caught that TD against Dallas is a head scratcher.. BUT, I start him EVERY week..

McBoog
There are so many factors that I don't think you can blame VJAx all the way. The back-ups to the back-ups are playing on the o-line. Rivers has no time to find him in the routs he runs. The Chargers are a damaged team right now and may not win another game.
giantsfan
Honestly, if you started him today I blame you. 1. Champ has been great recently. 2. Champ always shuts down VJax in his career. 3. First game against Champ he had like 3 for 34. 4. After a good game last week you had to know this could be a down one. I have VJax in one league, and benched him. I plan on playing him next week at Jacks. Sure he will go off then.
hooknladder
he's much better in total point leagues.
