WE did. Not one to kick a fine feathered foe when their down but the Eagles have officially come apart at the seams. Seeings, the birds beat us down this year I must temper my enthusiams. However, I personally know what it feels like to have high hopes for a team then by thanksgiving, realizing my team was a mirage.

Welcome to the land of the lost.

Now I don't agree that Ried should be fired but it is amazing how fast the fans have turned on a coach that has taken your team to the playoffs and won a lot of games year in and year out. If there was a chant it should have been fire the DC.

DJack is a problem.

Vick is hurt, glad I traded him when I did.

The linebackers are suspect at best.

All I can say is Better you then us...........

Have to fire Reid...he is responsible for the D-Coordinator, has been HC since 1999 and hasn't produced a Super Bowl in one of the most competitive sport cities. The talent has been given to him throughout the years and he needed to produce a championship. I got the feeling that this year he had to either win it all or come damn close to get the fans to back him up, and clearly that hasn't happened.

Well when you look at it, he hasn't really had all the talent. I mean Mcnabb was what he was, and I never thought he was all that good. Especially in crunch time. They have never had any recievers to speak of. DJacks is the first real number 1 that I can recall. But of no names for the most part. Pinkston comes to mind other than that, I can't name another WR, come to think of it. Almost forgot but Westbrook is what made the Offense go period. McCoy is no Westbrook. Not yet anyway.

The D has always been what Philly was all about and had stellar LB play. Once Dawkins left they haven't been the same at all. I knew when JJ passed (GRHS) there would be a mighty hole left to fill. That hole has not been filled.

So to say he has been given all this talent isnt accurate. He's been given enough to go better then 4-7 but I would say they need a real DC and some dynamic LB's in order to really get back to playoff caliber football.

Did I mention that Djack is a problem............

Vick was never a good QB but I cant wait to see how Romo screws up this year.

Seeings that the only thing you have to look forward to, I can see flustrations. However, Romo is our QB and we will live and die with his play. Fortunately we are living now and Romo has the talent to do some really big things. Romo is a very smart guy and I have to believe he has turned a significant corner.

I have seen but one fumble this year. I have seen 4 bad picks. All in all he's protected the ball well and made more then his share of game winning plays thus far. I believe in Romo big time. He may break my heart a few times still to come but he gives us a punchers chance in ANY game. Cant say that for many QB's in this league.

I can tell you this much, Romo with a legit running game means like he says, "linebackers have to play gap control, which a QB loves". You won't see LB flying out of their gab to drop into space so quickly undetected. You also won't see Strong Safeties flying around in space as much either. Both of which were conducive to Romo throwing passes that ended up in the hands of defenders that weren't suppose to be there.

You might say how are the packers doing it then? Well they have A rodgers who is in a true westcoast offense and they pass like a run. They also have the system down pat with everyone being where their suppose to be when they are suppose to be there. That is the difference. We have had our two starting recievers for all of 3 games. Bryant is still an infant in the NFL passing game. Robinson just got here and Olgetree is well Ogletree.

So as Romo and the Recievers go, as does the Cowboys. Thankfully we should have Austin back for the stretch run.

I have nothing relevant to say, only that I like andy reid--probably the only member of the eagles org that I have ever liked, maybe westbrook for my fantasy team in 2004:) reid I almost feel sorry for--like he's the whipping post, plus his kids are nasty--major problems at work and on the home front. Not sure if his kids have shaped up since then, but nevertheless I feel bad for the guy.

I just want to say beforehand, this is neither here nor there, and further it has nothing to do with Andy Reid as a coach.

I've always thought Andy was a bastard and about as classy as a turd on a wet sidewalk. I hated the way he handled the T.O. debacle and still stand by my reasoning that they were cause of that entire downfall. (Reid and McNabb)

And while I dont think a persons personal life has anything to do with their coaching skills, I believe he has some serious family issues that he refuses to address, which shows his spirit as a person. Further, i dont think anyone can say he's not a good coach, but sometimes he gets tunnel vision and refuses to look up.

Again, this is just me bitching that I think the guy is a jackass, but as a coach, in years past, he's pretty good at winning football games. Being a person his family and teammates can rely on? not so much.

I dont even know why i said any of this. It means nothing and i look even stupider for saying it. kudos to myself.

FWIW they had T.O. in 2004, I mean he is a huge pain the butt, but had 77 REC 1200 YDS 14 TD with them and was extremely talented. Reid has really ridden the McNabb and Westbrook train from 2003-09, and now that he doesn't have those guys he's struggling.

BJ---Yes, I mean SB victory

Making a lot of noise considering your team hasn't secured anything as of yet. I'm sure this post gets bumped in a month if the Cowboys fail to make the playoffs. Granted, they have been winning, but it's not like they have been consistent or beating inferior opponents convincingly. The Giants game in two weeks will say an awful lot, assuming you beat the Cardinals.

I dont see alot of spark on any nfc east to date.. all too inconsistent. One minute its lights out, the next they look like high school. well, one of these knucklehead teams will win the nfc east, hope its the cowboys of course:))))

Well when you look at it, he hasn't really had all the talent.

And considering Reid picks the talent as well that is also his fault. Reid refuses to draft LBs early which has cost him dearly this year. He is loyal to a fault hence hiring his o-line coach as his new DC. The team is under-performing this year and now even coaches are fighting on the sideline. Reid did a very good job at turning the franchise around but he never could get over the final hurdle and now it seems like he is losing his touch a bit.

That's typically what I don't understand about Philly fans (not saying you are). Philly always has a competitive team and always does really well. If you look at Andy Reid's playoff record or record in the 2nd half of the season, you know he's a damn good coach. D-Coordinator should have been out ages ago, but injuries and the lockout have plagued this eagles team, period. I don't think Philly teams know or remember when the team was mediocre at best, if they did, maybe they'd appreciate the coach that they have. Philly isn't entitled to a Super Bowl just because of where they play either.

My 2 cents.

Andy Reid might be the best groomer of quarterback talent the league has ever seen. He's gotten more from Doug Pederson, Donovan McNabb, Koy Detmer, AJ Feely, and Michael Vick than any other coaches have ever been able to get. He's been able to make wonderfully astute trades of Feely and Kolb.

With the current structure of the NFL, passing is what wins titles. Running the ball is insignificant long-term.

I just don't think the grass in greener on the other side of the fence. They brought in too many new players to gel in one month. They need probably another full offseason. I'd like a different defensive philosophy. But who would be a better coach? Cowher? No way. Billick? What did Billick ever do in developing a quarterback?

I really think if they fire Reid, they'll set the franchise back a bunch. But hey, that's just me.

Not that it's the same thing, but I remember when Mike Shanahan was fired I was excited about the prospects of moving on... Felt like Shanahan's time was up, etc. the two seasons that followed with McDaniels were horrendous, and the franchise still has a ways to go to seriously compete in the AFC. Even if they somehow miraculously win the division this year, they couldn't hang with a team like the Ravens or Steelers coming to town.

But my point in bringing this up is that firing Reid may or may not be a step in the right direction long term, but chances are good that the team won't be competitive in the division for a few years easily, depending on who takes over the GM and head coaching duties. And considering the financial situation, to call it an uphill climb is putting it mildly.

Dude has been to at least 5 conference championship games and a SuperBowl. He consistently has one of the best offenses in the league every year. And your solution is to fire him for one bad year where they added a bunch of new players??

That's not the solution. Ask the Chargers if they're happy with firing Shotty and picking up the great Norv Turner

Perenial playoff coaches don't fall off trees. Reid definitely gets a pass this year, imo and that's a no-brainer.
