kpholmes
If you're Tony Romo... and there's 20 seconds left and you have two timeouts... Why do you waste 12 seconds to clock the ball when you aren't in sure fire field goal range?

Why do you waste 12 seconds to clock the ball when you aren't in sure fire field goal range? THIS!! I was wondering why they didn't call a timeout and then run at least 1 more play to set up a slightly closer FG attempt....but then Garrett does the unthinkable and ices Bailey....what a dork. Should be an interesting post game presser. KO'd

Second and 19 for the Cards and you commit an unnecessary PI and give them a first down. Cowboys deserve to lose.

ThatDude
I'm a Cowboys fan and Romo and Garrett lost this game. Not calling a timeout was stupid by Romo but there was still a chance until numb nutz Garrett froze his own kicker, Who in the H3ll does that... And if they run a play trying to get field position and lose yardage or god forbid turn the ball over you fans are going to be screaming bloody murder for getting greedy and not just trying for the FG after the pass to Bryant got them in reasonable field position. Hindsight and such.

SecondString
No dog in this fight for me, but when neither the head coach nor the QB has the wherewithall to call the timeout after that completion, with plenty of time to get composure and a few more yards (maybe another first down even) for a closer FG attempt.....that's bad. Two minute drill, everybody should know what's going on and what to do next. Head coach with the most responsibility, but Romo has some culpability there too. Papajohn
I just saw it. What is going on. It has to be the strangest play of the year.
tonorator
the explanation i believe was trying to avoid a delay of game penalty which would have pushed them back out of range. garrett also shared that they didn't want to run another play because "bad things can happen when you get down there ..." contrast this with the packers and rodgers continuing to throw when in range to get better position and make the field goal a chip shot with no time left. one drive executed perfectly, the other a complete mess. oh, and at least the bengals screwed things up on their first drive which made the whole thing much easier to take ... ABearWithFurniture
The kicking coach was actually the one who called the time out...through Garrett.
Ditkaless Wonders
I saw a confused Q.B., a coach not ready for prime time, and a coach who does not trust his Q.B., his O-line, and his backs and recievers as much as he trusts a Rookie kicker.
