Week 14 Playoff Studs?

Since I have been playing fantasy football, it seems like every year, a player that has been subpar throughout the year seems to make a menz and score about 40 + points in week 14 dashing the hopes of a number one or two seed.....

Last year, it happened to me.....Darren McFadden went off against the Jags.....and scored 40 on me......I was the number two seed....

My prediction.....

Roddy White....in all honesty has been subpar this year.....I predict close to 200 yards and 2TDS.....about 35 points in a ppr league about 40....

Any others....?

Darren McFadden was good throughout last year till he got hurt. Not exactly a come-out-of-nowhere performance.

I also would argue there are random good weeks from not-great players every week and you tend to just remember the big random performances because it is fantasy playoff time, not because there's an unusual trend going on.

I mean...Demaryius Thomas had an absurd fantasy game on Sunday. Had it happened this week, you would commit it to this "trend" but because it happened this past week, it's forgotten.

Ok, so maybe not a stud, but I'm picking up Kyle Rudolph this week to replace Fred Davis, as I think he has a decent shot to get in the end zone, especially if Peterson and Shiancoe both are out. Could be the Vikings' biggest red zone target. I'm not thinking anything outrageous, but a 4-40-1 line is doable if both Shiancoe and Peterson are out.

Not much of a secret anymore, but I'm glad I held onto Percy Harvin...and I think Blunt goes off in the final two weeks. Also for wide receivers I think Moss have possibilities.

For losing scenarios...Gore (I have him and I think he will be rested), plus the beast comes down to earth

wr...Hicks

te...Graham (although a stud he, comes up short for the numbers he has been putting up)

Why do you think Hicks will have a bad game?

Might be fine ... but you may have to rely on Webb (Qb/Wr) to make it happen:

Joe Webb - QB - Minnesota Vikings Posted 12/6/11 11:49am et

Minnesota Vikings QB Joe Webb will get reps with the first-team offense in practice Wednesday, Dec. 7, as QB Christian Ponder practices only a limited basis because of a hip pointer suffered in Week 13.

Huddle Up: Vikings coach Leslie Frazier has indicated that if Ponder can't go it will be Webb and not recently-acquired Sage Rosenfels handling quarterback duties.
