Lloyd Dobler
I am hoping to get some insight from brighter football minds than mine. My QB's are T. Brady & A. Smith, and my leagues trade deadline is this Wednesday night; the league does not have a waiver wire. Due to both of their teams having (most likely) already gotten into the playoffs (and now playing for better positioning), I am concerned that they both may be sitting come week 17, maybe even sitting part of week 16's game. Who out there has a better grasp on the likely playoffs seeding scenario than I? I am wondering if I need to try to make a trade for a backup QB who should be playing their entire week 17 game. Big John
The Pats, PIT/BAL, and HOU are fighting for playoff seeding and I don't see them sitting their starters. For the NFC, SF and NO are battling for a first-round bye, but that could be settled earlier as only 2 teams are involved and could be settled earlier. I hope your right BJ, I'd love to have Brady playing for something week 17.

That is pretty much it, hard to say at this point but unlikely. Could be one or both (or neither) have little to play for come week 17. Not the kind of thing you want to trade based on for sure (and who you trade for could be in a similar situation). Oh wait, you said "brighter football minds" nevermind
historymike
Too many unknowns here, but a Patriots loss in the next two weeks will make Week 17 very relevant. If the Pats win the next two games, Week 17 will be less relevant, but home field may be at stake. If it is any consolation, Belichick has a history of playing starters all 17 weeks, gaining a reputation as being rather über-aggressive, though Brady might sit out the fourth quarter of Week 17 if the game is a blowout. historymike
Also, the Patriots have not even clinched a playoff spot yet, and there are four 10-3 teams in the AFC. Odds are that this is going to go to Week 17 to settle.
