overworkedirish
My league is pretty young (year 3), but we're keeping Week 17 in the playoffs (two 2-week long games). Anyone including Week 17 due to the fact that there's more on the line for NFL playoffs with division opponents ending out the season? delusions of grandeur
I don't understand the "more on the line for NFL playoffs with division opponents ending out the season?" part, because you can do that just the same with a week 16 championship, and can add a double-header for 12 team (3 divisions, 4 teams) if you're set on playing everybody... I don't understand why you need a week 17 championship for that. Most leagues now have championships on week 16 to reduce the number of players that might be getting sat in week 17 with playoff spots clinched. My lone FF championship win was due to the other guys players getting sat, and I never felt like I truly earned it, with it being purely a matter of bad luck for him. Unless you for some reason want to give more advantage to teams who draft from teams less likely to clinch, it's very fluky to decide a championship on week 17. (ETA: oh I see, you're talking about actual divsion opponents, not FF... They also play in-division week 16 now, but either way it's not worth bringing more players getting sat into the mix on week 17). Scooby's Hubby
yeah, he is talking about the real nfl schedule. Games like NYG vs Dallas in week 17. I still say it is better to end in week 16, though (unless the last week carried the same weight as the first week and was not the money game). Just ask any Peyton Manning owner from the last 10 years.
