Wolverines Fan
http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2011/12/15/sou...er-nfl-players/ CBS) Bears wide receiver Sam Hurd, who was arrested Wednesday on federal drug charges, was a top drug dealer in Chicago and police have a list of NFL players who were supplied drugs by the receiver, a law enforcement source told 670 The Score. The list is in the double-digits, according to the source. According to the criminal complaint, Hurd told an undercover Homeland Security agent Wednesday night that he and another co-conspirator were already distributing four kilograms of cocaine a week in the Chicago area, but he needed more. He was seeking five to ten kilograms of cocaine and 1,000 pounds of Josh Gordon a week to distribute and was willing to pay $25,000 per kilo of cocaine and $450 per pound of Josh Gordon. That adds up to as much as $700,000 of drugs each week. AM 670 The Score hosts Matt Spiegel and Laurence Holmes first reported the new information Thursday on the McNeil and Spiegel Show. Double Agent
If his attorney is worth a chit he'll argue that the drugs were for self use and not distribution.

half_hennessy
Maybe this is why Michael Turner's production has dropped off a bit the last month or so.
Infinity
Honestly, I'm more impressed than anything. That is a massive amount of drugs to be dealing. I remember when he was on the Cowboys and was young with a bunch of potential. Maybe if he worked harder it would have worked out.
DMD
This is what I love about the NFL. Not only is it an extremely high-paying job and very, very temporary, but that there are so many young men willing to screw up a golden opportunity that lasts only for a couple of years so that others can come in and take their place. I have zero sympathy for those guys and hope they catch the lot of them so others can get their chance. It could be sad I guess but these are grown men making bad decisions they'll have to pay for. godtomsatan
Some quick math tells me that his $700,000 investment has a street value of about $6 or $7 million. That's per week.

Ursa Majoris
Are you high ? Lot of injuries and he was all I could scrape together on the wire, so I hope they let him out so he can go 150/3 with the masterful Hanie under center. coordi88
some quick logic says he doesnt make anywhere near 5-6 million a week. hes going to be moving everything in bulk. using the moving blow as a reference you can make a ton cutting a selling cocaine. but still not that much... seeing as how an operation that size is going to take a fair amount transportation and various people to do the selling, that money is getting split up any number of ways. guy was making over a million a year to be a special teams specialist. just insane how someone can toss the opportunity like that to try and be scarface. peoplehater
I don't get why alot of people are surprised at this news. I can easily say 60-70 percent of the nfl players were involved in narcotics growing up. Some players can never get that seperation because they grew up in it. Vick fought dogs because thats what he did growing up. Now with that said I feel no mercy on any of them. Millions of kids train everyday to make it to the nfl and these idiots throw it away. The city of Chicago should be pissed that one of their football players was looking to put that shizz on their streets. Im glad he got caught in a direct buy with a federal agent to make the case even better.
