What do you do?  What do you recommend?  What to you specifically not recommend?

I don't want to spend a lot on software, as I still have lenses I want to buy.

I have PS Elements, but have no idea how to use it.  It is not intuitive to me.  At all.

Leaning toward Lightroom and a class.    Maybe Nik Silver FX Pro and HDR Efex Pro...

I'll never want to spend a lot of time in PP, but am learnign that Picasa blows.

I have Lightroom and really like it, and that is with what I have learned on my own.

EDIT: fwiw, I think you can download a free 30 day trial of LR at Adobe's website

EDIT 2: ummm yep: https://www.adobe.co...oshop_lightroom

Sweet.  I've noticed they run specials on Lighroom every other month or so for 50% off.

I am 100% sold on LR being worth every penny. I was slow to get it but once I tried out the free trial and watched some youtube videos to figure a few things out, I am now hooked.

Now to really shake us all up, LR 4 Beta is out. I am only just getting totally comfortable with LR 3 but if it adds some neat stuff to 4 then I will be upgrading.

Have a look at http://www.dpreview....-beta-whats-new to find out what new features etc. are included.
