How bout to the D-Line. They did to Brees what the Pats did to Warner in NE's 1st SB. Dropped 7-8 into coverage and just had the D-line put pressure on without a blitz. And those guys stepped up. How bout when dude just drove his blocker right back into Brees then reached over him and yanked Brees down by his jersey? Effing man's game! How bout Joe Staley, making a block 20 yards down field to spring Smith into the endzone? Yep, game ball right there as well. Man that was a great freaking game! Most fun I've had in some time! All those chances the Saints could have had at the playoffs, but having to face them. I was hoping that we would finally get our payback. Anyway, I'm burying the hatchet and pulling for the 9ers to win it all. The refs should have called a horse-collar there. It's not a penalty to pull down a QB by his collar while he's in the pocket. Always liked the Saints, even when they were in the NFC "West". I knew going into that game that it would take our best, but that would only be enough if we didn't get your best as well. Looks like it was our best versus some combo of your worst and your best and that was enough to tip the scales our way. NO, IMO was the team to beat in the entire tourney. As for the horse collar, I was thinking that as well. I assumed that you basically couldn't take a guy down if he was running. That would be logical, anyway. I remember those Saints teams, always so close between them and the 49ers! Bobby Hebert, Dalton Hilliard, Eric Martin, Vaughn Johnson, Pat Swilling, young Morton Anderson, Saints had solid teams back then. I got to experience your pain during the 90's when the Cowboys were the best team in the NFC, we were always right there but not good enough. Best game I've ever watched in my young life! I think prior to this one it was the vikings and saints NFC title game, but this one takes over.
