Whiskey Pimp
I saw this on NFLN last night that he has passed his physical and now here's a link: Forte to play The only reason this makes any sense I guess is to show that he is over his injury and healthy enough for a team to sign him to his big contract but is it worth it to play now at a game that has no meaning? SNOWBOUND33
I bet he could've played for the Bears, but decided against it since they wouldn't give him a new contract. I bet he holds out next year for 10 games if they tag him. I don't think he will hold out. Everything I have heard about him is that he loves to play. RB prices are dropping, but for a rb as versatile as Forte he should still get paid pretty well. The Bears can't afford to over pay him with so many other needs i.e. WR!!!!!!! But Can they make a run without him? Yeah but I wouldn't take that risk. Maybe they will go for some more Dallas cast offs since that worked so well with those three. Whiskey Pimp
well, a google search was easy... http://chicagofootballtalk.com/blog/compar...tt-fortes-worth -- Adding it all up makes the Bears best offer to Matt Forte at 6 years, $36M with $14M guaranteed. If that's true, then I don't see how a deal will ever get done as I doubt the Bears pay much more than that and Forte already turned it down. I would think it's the $14M guaranteed part that Forte doesn't like.
Whiskey Pimp
you're probably right, but do you think the Bears will increase it significantly? Nope.
SNOWBOUND33
you're probably right, but do you think the Bears will increase it significantly? I think they will bump that up if he looks healthy. They can't afford to let him walk either.
Whiskey Pimp
He wants more, they won't pay more, they'll tag him... does he hold out? I think he does and only plays the required 6 games. This is what I see happening too.

Whiskey Pimp
Great, now I will watch for sure. I'll actually be there right behind the NFC bench.
SNOWBOUND33
but that offer was before he was injured. He wants more, they won't pay more, they'll tag him... does he hold out? I think he does and only plays the required 6 games. I'm believe unless his agent/family/friends get to him he will play. He loves to play. I think they meet in the middle during the off season. Maybe more guaranteed, less years??? If I were the Bears I would obviously want this resolved before the draft.
SNOWBOUND33
I agree with all that you said, but he turned down and they didn't offer more. (I'm looking at this from a FF dynasty perspective... and am rolling the dice that Kahlil Bell is the starter next year). Could ,but Jerry Angelo is finally gone and that could shake things up a little. If that's your plan I hope the craps table is kind to you.
