Ditkaless Wonders
Well I don't believe they can trade him before tagging him. I am certain they are exploring trade options, but that is not the same thing Franchise tagging him would be cost prohibitive. I believe they will likely have to just let him test the market and settle for a third rounder the following year. I suppose it is possible that they could resign him in the open market, but there are four teams, at least, in pressing need of a Q.B. Luck and Griffin cover two of those and Manning the third, probably. That leaves one team for Flynn or the number three rookie. Given that Seattle, Cleveland, and Washington all look to be in win now mode I think flynn has a suitor. For the Packers to get value there needs to be a fourth team, other than the Colts, who enter the fray. Miami and Arizona might represent that team. If that happens, and they don't want a bidding war they might consider working a deal with the Packers. Nothing to do really but watch and see, or hope that Vick gets arrested for something very serious. That would open the market some.
Bronco Billy
Trade before franchise tag option makes no sense. GB cannnot trade Flynn right now because he is a FA - that means he isn't under contract, and therefore GB has no rights to him. A trade after the FT makes sense - using the FT on Flynn would then allow GB to trade him since there would be a contract betwwen Flynn and the Packers. FWIW - I believe that Hoyer is also a FA, so one could conceivably throw him into the QB game of musical chairs.

Manning does not come from that offense, and I doubt would want to learn something so different. I also doubt Philbin, who has worked forever to get to this point isn't going to want to take a step back and let Manning run said offense. I see Flynn landing in Miami regardless of if he's tagged or not. If he is tagged I could see a 2nd rounder being exchanged for him. I see absolutely no way that Ted Thompson tags him without having a handshake agreement in place with another team.

piratesownninjas
They're going to let him walk This more than likely than not will be the case. From the tweets from the Packers insiders today I don't see a possible way they tag him... Although Ted did do something similar with Corey Williams. so it's not entirely out of the question.
