Moral question about a dynasty league

So what would you do if you learned that in a dynasty league there was a member that through a different name owned multiple teams? Do any leagues actually allow this? What if you just learned about it, but the guy hasnt told the rest of the league? Should the rest of the league be informed?

Not only should the league be informed, if this is a Huddle league, we should all be informed to avoid this Cheat in any of the many leagues we're all involved in here.

I've been debating this one in my mind since my first post, but yes if it is a BOTH league the community should be informed.

Not that any of this would make a difference, but...

Have you confronted the person? Has this person done anything out of the ordinary that would effectively give himself a decided advantage? Has this person received any winnings while doing this?

I think it would be imposible to not colude with yhourself, at least subconsciously. Like if your picks are near each other while drafting, you know which players the two teams want. So malicious or not, it still affects the league.

Exactly, how could you not? I guess since it's a dynasty, you don't have to worry about serpentine drafts and picks at the horn, because if you were the last two/first two picks at rounds, this would be huge. You'd almost have to go out of your way to avoid making that an advantage.

Also, collusion or no, you know there's one team who'd be a willing trade partner, even if you truly believed that both teams were getting a fair deal and each improving. This is certainly not automatically the case with anyone else. Even if you're not actually trying to fleece someone, they may not go for your trade offer and, thus, you may be stuck long at a position you don't need to be and short at a position you're not.

So, yes, it would be impossible not to gain an unfair advantage doing this unless you were just awful at the game.

Sounds pretty bad at first glance... just for clarification, this isn't a case where 2 different owners happen to share the same residence and ip address is it (spouses, etc)? If there isn't some very good explanation (and I can't really think of one) then let the hammer fall.

This question alone in the context of your post makes me feel dirty. We all (OK, many/most of us with a conscience) have the feeling in the pit of our stomach which tells us when something is right, and when it isn't.

Not sure what your gut says. Mine says, this falls under "bad touch". Hopefully the accused "mans up" and helps resolve this, instead of put up a major stink about it. And the rest of the league can move on as well. That part could be tough to do though...

Usually when one hears about this type of BS in money leagues it is the Commish scamming owners. It will be interesting to hear the outcome but this could easily kill the league.

Good luck getting this resolved.

Im curious as to how he would have gotten by with two teams undetected. You'd have to have to huddle member accounts that aren't one way or another tied together, then two different email accounts, two different paypal accounts...

It is funny that this is posted today. Over the weekend I logged in from a computer at my parents house and logged into my first account that I had lost the password to long ago... I went to my BoTH league and put a draft pick on the block... I realized I logged in under the old screen name, logged into the PON one and said what happened and to send PM's with with proposals to me....

Leave it to one owner to respond asking me how I had to teams... It took three PM's for him to understand that Huddle Screen names don't equate to teams in a league.

I would find it very hard to believe that any BOTH Dynasty owner would stoop to this level of fantasy ethics.

Hoping this person did not own multiple teams.

It's hard enough when those leagues have various levels of friendship and time committments...this would be a league I would bail from and might even blame the commish for not fully vetting out the owners effectively.
