Holy crap! :shocking:

This is just what the Bears need! New gm Phil Emery is stepping up.

And for just two third rounders? It's a bargain if Marshall keeps his head screwed on right.

Not much of a return for Marshall

I'd think Peyton would be less inclined to go to Miami with Davone Bess as their #1 WR

Understood but there are still some pieces Miami could get. From what I've been reading, one of the problems with Peyton to Miami was the presence of Marshall. We'll see how this shakes out. Arizona has to drop or pay Kolb his roster bonus by the close of business Friday to keep him off the roster on Saturday, which would trigger his bonus.

Isn't that a cheap price to pay for a player of Marshall's caliber? I think Chicago did a scoop here, and it makes the NFC North even more interesting.

This would clear the way for Peyton to bring Clark, Wayne and Garcon with him.

Or they don't want a headcase screwing with a young QB/first time starter.

He's got all the talent in the world, but 51 drops in four seasons leads the league. He's a headcase. Curious to see if this works out, or blows up in Chicago's face.

Getting him that cheap?

Hub Arkush of Profootball Weekly came on the Score in Chicago. He said on paper its a great deal becasue the Bears didn't leave themselves in a bad position with the draft and the salary cap, but he is "troubled" that the Dolphins gave Marshall up for so cheap. The Bears had two third round choices this year, but Miami okayed taking one this year and one in 2013 for Marshall. Arkush also said maybe the Fish did it for other reasons (hint: Manning).

Which tells you that they were tired of his antics. Two 3's aren't chopped liver though.

Agreed on both!

As a Bear fan, however, I do think this is a good move for the Bears. Obviously Marshall's best years were with Cutler and both players are just hitting their prime

Without trying to sound Homer Tastic, I do hope the implication here is that Cutler can keep Sir Jackass in line and that it also represents (which probably isn't a stretch) that they are full on letting Cutler have a major say moving forward.
