Steve Smith (PHI) to become Steve Smith (STL)

Maybe we should just call him "the other Steve Smith" or "Steve Smith the lesser" ;)

He didn't look good last year.  Granted, he was still coming off the surgery, but he could barely get seperation.  And Amendola,l for what there was, was the best receiver on that team.  I don't see much issue, but who knows. I'd personally avoid both, lol.

You think amendola is Bette than Brandon Lloyd?

Vikings sign CB Zack Bowman,.

Bowman spent the last four seasons in Chicago. He intercepted six passes for the Bears in 2009.

At one point Bowman was elevated to the Bears' No. 1 cornerback position, however, he lost his job early in 2010 and ended up playing sparingly the past two years as Tim Jennings emerged as the regular full-time starter opposite Charles Tillman. Bowman did remain a strong contributor on special teams, where he finished tied for fifth on the Bears in 2011 with 10 special teams tackles.
The Vikings and Bears play similar defenses, which made Minnesota a logical landing spot for the 6-foot-1 defensive back.

The fact that Tim Jennings beat anyone out for a starting spot still blows my mind.  The dude was horrible in Indy.

I'm all for any help along the D line.  He can't do worse than Mike Bust Neal.

I'm not yet convinced he will be a bust, which is not to say he has not been a disappointment thus far.  I mean injury, injury, tenative ineffective play, and then suspension does not build confidence he will produce, but I am willing to wait and watch a little longer at this point.

Sure he can. He was already suspended for a year, right? Just wait until the drug dealing lions come to town and they party.

No bueno

The Vikings have added another cornerback to the mix for the 2012 season.
Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network reports that the team has agreed to terms with free agent Chris Carr on a contract. Carr was cut by the Ravens before the start of free agency after a 2011 season marred by injuries. It’s the second recent cornerback signing — they added Zack Bowman last week — for a team that struggled badly at the position last year.
Carr played just nine games for the Ravens last season because of a back injury. He was an effective part of the defense in 2010, however, and he should earn a fair amount of playing time in the Vikings’ secondary packages if he’s healthy. Antoine Winfield and Chris Cook look like the starters right now, but there’s no clear impediment to Carr earning the nickel corner job.
That could change after the draft if the Vikings wind up getting themselves more help at corner, of course. For now, though, Carr looks like he’ll be part of the group trying to improve the productivity of the Vikings pass defense

Then A.J. signed Michael Spurlock. I think he wants 17 or 18 players on the roster that can return punts and kickoffs.

I wonder why this guy can't stick with a team   A pro-bowler from the past and still very solid with a big leg by my recollection.  You'd just think he'd be a keeper.
