J.Stewart watch 2012

According to Len Pasquarelli of The Sports Xchange, the Panthers will "definitely" listen to trade offers for Jonathan Stewart this offseason.

After signing Mike Tolbert, the Panthers quickly put out word that Stewart wasn't on the trade block, perhaps for fear of losing leverage. Per Pasquarelli, however, the Steelers could be a "sleeper" to make a run at Stewart, and "everyone" has made the Broncos the favorite to acquire the versatile, 25-year-old back. Pasquarelli does concede "there hasn't been anything serious yet."

I would be thrilled beyond belief if Stewart landed on either the Steelers or Broncos. I'd prefer the Steelers, but I could see Stew coming into Peytonville and taking over the starting gig without so much as a tussle.

Stewart has wasted away on my bench for 2 years now. I was one of his biggest supporters turning down a trade for Ray Rice in a $750 league during the 2010 dynasty start up draft because I felt I could get Stewart with 1 of those picks and Stewart would score as much as Ray Rice would in 2011 and beyond. Boy was I wrong.and it is killing me. Newton coming in killed his TD's as well. Really need Stewart to get traded. I already bailed on him in 1 league last year but having him in this big leauge he really needs to be traded.

Word, I passed him up in a $550 league which might not make the cut as a "high stakes league" but that's straight light an gas bill money homey!

I hope the man get's to another team this year (why not SF?), he has way too much talent to be wasting away in Carolina. The guy needs a shot at featured back, or at least a 70% time share scenario.

The two bolded statements are a contradiction since SF has this guy named Gore who carries most of the load there. JStew would not be a good fit for them. Teams that need a feature back (CIN, CLE, etc) would be a much better fit than SF.

PS Most of us would not consider a 70% load a "time share", those are featured back numbers. Every RB needs some plays off.

I would love to see him go to the Steelers. Mendenhall isn't going to be ready by the start of the season, and, based on what I'm hearing, might be out for a while. If there was a way to get Stewart in, and give him a look, I would be absolutely thrilled. I highly doubt it will happen though.

Why wouldn't Stewart be a good fit for SF? Gore is old and wearing down noticeably. If you actually watched niners games you would know this.

First I'll admit to not seeing a lot of 49ers games. But that doesn't mean I'm completely uniformed.

But you said he'd be a good fit, and he needs to go somewhere he can be a featured back (or get 70% of the carries). Do you really think that SF is ready to sign another RB to take that kind of load, replacing Gore?

if they didn't have Gore, or if he was truly worn down (which I'm not hearing from any SF homer or other football people) then maybe he'd be a good fit.

Sorry but your statements just seem to be coming out of left field.

ETA SF just signed Brandon Jacobs so JStew is even less of a good fit there now (more crowded RB group).

I think Pittsburgh and Denver are the 2 prime candidates for Stew. Even with the Manning signing, Denver can surely afford Stewart even beyond 2012 (FT). He had a career best 5.36YPC and 46 catches playing in a RBBC situation.

DEN has a ton of work to do on its D without spending a small fortune for another running back who gets hurt when someone looks at them meanly.

WHatever. Care to dive into Stew's injury history for those of us that are not as informed as you?

And I would LOVE to hear this "injury history" and how many games he has missed because of it. Can't wait.

The injury myth has been disproven by Taz time and time again. The Broncos and every JStew fantasy owner would be fortunate to land Stewart.
