The Truth About Rookie Running Backs

James was probably the best rookie of all time. As a rookie he ran 369-1553 and added 62-586 as a receiver with a total of 17 touchdowns. Throw that into a PPR league and it was 316 points. He had 431 touches as a rookie. Man I miss those days... at least when you had an early draft pick.

I went and looked - James ADP was 1.06 in 1999. When was the last time a rookie RB went in the first round?

Man, I remember that year. I picked 12th in a 12 team draft. Took Eddie George at 12 and then James with the next pick. Then I picked up Kurt Warner after week 1 as a FA, and the rest is history.

First championship.

Been burned too many times swinging for the fences with the latest hyped rookie RB. It's great when you draft these guys around their ADP and they explode, but man do you look stupid when you reach and they bust. And lately they have been underwhelming in their first year more often than not.
