Schefter was on ESPN 1000 and he said that he expects NO charges to be filed against Brandon Marshall in the nightclub incident and that the police next week would more than likely dismiss all charges.

Well, if Jerome Simpson can get caught with 2 pounds of grass, and only end up with 15 days in the pen and probation, then it's once again evident that the legal system only favors one color: green.

It's terrific you know more facts that the police. Although your record of understanding of the laws remains spotty at best.

We Denver fans remember Schefter being a schill for any information - and was used as such to regularly distribute misinformation - that Shanahan wanted to get out to the league when Schefter was a beat writer here.  It always has amused me that when he moved to the national stage and did the same thing, how much credibility and acumen he suddenly acquired.

IMNSHO, with the Marshall move and getting Bates as the OC, if Cutler and Marshall manage to grow up some - admittedly a big "if" - and CHI comes to grip with exactly how much Forte means  to the team and compensates him properly to keep him happy, CHI may have just opened a 3 to 4 year window where they are legit SB contenders.

Are you disguising your Bear hate for Schefter hate?  I think Schefter is stating the obvious. It has been a month since the incident, the police report was filed the next day, there were multiple eye witness’ statements taken, and there is a purported video tape showing a portion of the incident. If the NYPD was going to charge him with misdemeanor battery, they would have done it by now. Especially considering they have a willing "victim." (She gave a press conference for christ sake!)

Thanks.  I stand corrected.  They hired Bates as their QB coach.  That said, the combination of Bates as a coach with Cutler and Marshall playing together in DEN meant some big O numbers in DEN when they were together.

I think he is stating the more or less obvious.  That's what he does.  He waits on issues until they appear settled but are not officially announced as settled and then he makes his guess, like any two bit shill doing  cold reading.  He pretends his information comes from "insiders", but it doesn't.  When his guess pans out he claims connections, when it doesn't he postualtes a last minute turnabout, which, you know, he sort of saw coming and sort of allowed for.  I can't believe people have bought his act.

As for the Bears I think they have positioned themselves for excellence, at least they will have if they get Forte on board.  I remember how they were doing last year before injuries ate them up.  They were a contender and have made themselves even stronger this off season.  I do not hate the Bears.  Perhaps you mistake my occassional poking at their fans as hate for the team.  Not so.  BTW I also rank on my brothers and I don't hate them.

I'm just busting your chops. The problem with the internet/email/message board/ is that sarcasism is often lost in tranlation. (Maybe I should use more faces ).  But it's OK to hate the Bears, I hate the Packers! I don't hate Wisconsinites, your State, or wish injuries on your players. But I DO WISH the Packers finished dead last each year. GO BEARS!

Even if charges are dropped, Marshall could still face suspension.  I think that's an important factor.  Brandon Marshall is always involved in some altercation with the police every off season.  Goodell could drop the hammer on him again, but to try and predict what Goodell will do isn't an easy thing to do.
