NFL draft talk official thread

Polk & Billy Winn still undrafted. That's just midboggling, since 90% of the guys being drafted now are going to be burger flippers in 6 months.

Winn went at the end of the 6th, but nosing around on Polk, I saw people ranking him as a high 2nd rounder/top-5 RB prospect.

Did this kid get caught with a live boy or a dead girl? What happened?

Rumor is health reasons of a degenerative condition.

At this point where it's a crapshoot at best, why wouldn't you roll the dice on a guy that has shown some serious skills, explosion, etc... Weird.

Nosing around for this, no one has quite pinned down the problem - back or hip.

But I did find out that he has a hilariously great nickname - "The Polkswagen"

Seems to me the NFL in general is a degenerative health issue for all players...

True, but the problem with your thinking is teams want* their players to degenerate AFTER they've cut them, not before they draft them.

* - well, maybe not "want" - I'm sure most NFL coaches/GMs/etc would be thrilled if all former players lived long, healthy, and happy lives into their 90s.

AJ Hawk is about to be put on notice.

They have him listed as OLB, but the writeup I read made him sound like a 4-3 OLB/3-4 ILB.

So yeah, nice knowin' ya, AJ.

He was primarily an OLB in the 4-3, but played a little in the middle. His size at 237, and his propensity to murder the running game makes him a perfect fit for Hawks spot.
