half_hennessy
Ryan Mathews kind of hits you with a massive uppercut as a surprise no way I could take him that early.

flemingd
Holy hell Richardson #14. I don't doubt Matthews really - they let Tolbert go, and he was a MASSIVE vulture last year. Tolbert averaged 11 points in my non-ppr last year. Give just 1/4 of those points to Matthews and he's top 5, and I think he gets a lot more than 1/4 of Tolbert's leftover work. j2v
I'll claim the Mathews pick. At #3 the options were Rodgers (QB too deep to take one that early), McCoy, MoJo, and Mathews. As a poster stated above, give him just some of Tolbert's numbers from last year and he's an elite back. Also don't forget in that offense there's no more VJax and Gates is aging. McCoy's first two seasons prior to the 20-TD Year 3 look quite similar to Mathews' first two seasons. Now he's got the opportunity, his missed games are trending the right way (4 missed as a rookie, 2 missed last year), and I'd rather get the guy on the upswing than guys trending down after career years. Maybe things change over the next three months, but my first round of projections put Mathews at #3 among RBs... so I took him there. 2V

I view him as the RB3 behind Foster and Rice. This is going to be Mathews first full off season. As a rookie he missed a lot of time because of rules with school, then last year and the lockout. I read an article today about him and how happy he is to be able to use the team facilities and be on a plan that will help him achieve his goals. From the sound of it, he's focused and wants to take the next towards being elite. I like the pick.
Savage Beatings
I would be very nervous taking Gronkowski that early (2.05). He put up stellar numbers, but Brady has so many weapons on that team that he could easily see a pretty steep drop off. I know that if you want him or Graham you will HAVE to get them this early, but man... I'm just not sure I could pull the trigger if I was faced with the decision there. White lightning
I think taking Cam Newton before Brady and Brees is crazy talk! Not only were Cam's passing numbers slipping in the second half, but there is no way he maintains his rushing TDs of 2011 (see M. Vick's 2010 rushing TDs vs 2011). I wouldn't take him until round 3 or later. Edited May 16, 2012 by White lightning
lennykravitz2004
Does the "Lisfranc" last through a player's career? I was unable to find something definitive on the innerwebs, however many did state something to the effect that the injury will probably of some concern over the years for a person. And for a guy who #1 - has an injury history, and #2 - an injury which is always described with held breath... IDK that I wold gamble on him that early. And I do feel he is a gamble. How late would I wait before taking him? Probably mid-rounds. He very well could stay healthy and blow up 2000+ yards. Or, he could be just like every other season he's had in the NFL - injured. 13, 12, 13, 7 = # of games he's played over the past four years. 75% of games played per year? Just too uncertain, more uncertainty than other "elite" players, IMHO.

FWmaker
1.04 A.Rogers 2.09 J.Graham Assuming serpentine draft, I don't know if I've seen QB, TE go as 1,2 for any team.

FWmaker
It's an injury that tends to linger and recur. Not good. Me thinks that's the wrong part of the body you be expertin' in, Doc. Unless, you've had to remove some feet from the V of some contortionists - thereby causing the lisfranc injury in the first place.
Whiskey Pimp
Darren McHurtin @ 2.08. "Lisfranc"? You take him at 2.08 and then trade him after he has 3 or 4 strong weeks to start the season.
